The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

No more spending on glass is needed for me. But these have found a new home in my bag:

Not sure how I've managed this long without a rocket blower?! Very powerful!

The ball head looks small on that, that's the RSH12 isn't it? On my RS324 the head I swear looked bigger! The 7049 head is even bigger still even though it's lighter (yet stronger):

Sadly I took parts off my RSH12 to fit onto the CF tripod head (mounting base) and binned the RSH12 so can't directly compare.

yer its the rsh12, its a great bit of kit.

KD, if there was wobble it didn't show in a variety of focal lengths and heights. I have the short central section fitted so i haven't tried it with the long one. i will however have a look over the weekend.

i will also have a crack at my step dads 70-200L ISII, now that is a heavy lens!! ;)

Well, I've just put my 6D + 24-105 on it. So, hardly light weight gear. It's by no means perfect. But a 2s timer and I seem to be able to get shots of reasonable length happily, perfectly sharp.

It will also happily wrap around a pole, and hold the weight without slipping, so seems good from that perspective as well

I use my gorilla pod SLR Zoom to mount my EOS 7D with either sigma 17-70 F2.8-4 DC or my EF 70-300L IS USM lens on timer mode.
Works really well and is stable.
Normaaly use on holiday for night city shots or when I am in Duomo's

Very good bit of kit

Often don't use timer, I have a gPod slr zoom. I want a proper sized tripod.
A) the gPod isn't actually completely solid
B) I have a tripod full size that's relatively light. I want rock solid.

Such a nice lens. So sharp and gorgeous colours.

Only bad thing is the focus speed. But then...it moves a tonne of glass! :p
