I thought the limit on AF was f/5.6 and anything narrower wouldn't but it seems a firmware update bumped it up to f/8. Still only be able to use the points in the centre though.

Yeah I expected centre point AF as well but, nope, it will AF just fine using all of the points.

Pretty solid units on first impressions. They can take a variety of batteries, plus DC - a fairly big selling point. The reviews we found seemed very positive, and they're way cheaper than the big brand equivalent.

yeah, I looked at the youtube video of them being controlled by one light. quite a funky way of doing things especially if you've got a few set up around a person / object to light the subject.

I know the Canon ones don't work with the lens, but am shocked this one does. Do you have to keep the lens fixed or does it work throughout the zoom range?

I bought the extender from from amazon as I had a gift voucher and thought it be easier to return if I wasn't happy with it.

It works with all focus points on my 5diii throughout the 70-300mm range.
