The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Not new as such, but looking forward to using it:

A Tarot T-2D gimbal for our DJI Phantom. Was still installing it at 2am last night and again at 7am this morning but one of the first shots from it today is pretty good!

Looking good... Here is mine, like you say the ult boy toy. Make sure you get some FPV gear on it, you can see what your shooting and makes flying tons more fun.

Would be very interested in seeing any results from that 18-35! Didn't actually know it existed until I saw this thread. Knew about the 'iconic' Sigma 35 but not this.

How much did the Fat Shark set you back Flukestar? And where does its camera mount? Is that it to the top right of the GoPro on the first photo?

It is tricky when the Phantom is barely visible to work out which way it's facing!

Hey, it's a fat shark predator v2, was about £250... Comes with googles, 250mw transmitter and camera. Mounted the tx on a shelf of a eBay dampener mount, and the camera mounted on a little bracket I made (top right go pro). You just power it from phantom aux wires so plug and play setup

I think as you have gimbal you need a dedicated camera for FPV or it would be too disorientating as the gimbal moved.

It's a total game changer though, after 5 mins of FPV you no longer worry about where Phantom is, you just relax and enjoy the view and think about the shot you are taking.

Got the predator on eBay from rc geeks

Edit just to add the stock antennas were useless, so got the cloverleaf ones custom made from a guy on eBay.... If ever you get the FPV setup give me a shout and I'll hook you up with him. [email protected]

Not taking enough photos with the 5Dii apart from shoots and end up using my iPhone a hell of a lot more so grabbed a bargain on this. Also sent away for a free 35mm F/1.4. Score. Always loved "rangefinder" style shooting after extensively using a Mamiya 7 so this is divine to use. Now i have an itch to buy a 23mm...
