As most will know, the Rexi L has no hook but I knew I could DIY one in, any excuse to break out the power tools
I've been rocking that tripod since the Summer. It can't be beat for portability!

Mrk - any chance you could talk me through how you fitted the hook to your new tripod. I have the same one, which I love, but the lack of a hook for my bag is the only thing that lets it down.

Define technical 
I used a power drill and gradually used wider drill bits until the hole (it unscrews) was sufficiently wide enough for the hook to screw in via its own plate (most tripods with hooks are screw on anyway) then I applied some glue to the underside of the hook's screw plate and screwed the plate into the screw cap of the Velbon's column to add a bit of extra strength. Now when I unscrew it all they both come off as one.

Initially I thought the surround where the centre column mounts into was some kind of hard plastic but turns out it's all metal, impressed even further
