Just got myself a canon 5D mk iii, sigma 35mm F1.4 ART and Canon 135L F2.

The AF system on the MK iii is seriously confusing compared to nikons, but seems to be pretty damn accurate and fast though. The spread across the frame makes my old D600 AF seem utterly pathetic as well.

Test shot with the sigma wide open at 8000 iso:

It's a yummy camera isn't it? :D I'm off out shooting a band tomorrow night with mine, and it's a small affair. I know I'll once again be pondering selling my 35L for the art :D

Aye its an interesting piece of kit. Going to take me longer than I was expecting to adjust to it as I'm so use to shooting nikon DSLR's. The sigma lens is pretty nice tbh. The build quality is as nice as the images it provides.

It's not a confusing af system, it's logical! It's a full featured one though and has a 40+ page manual on it alone :p

How you finding the D7100? I see you came from a D5100 like me. Mines coming Monday/Tuesday with a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 :)

:)

To be honest I've only had chance to have a little play taking some shots of a project at work, but off visiting family at the weekend so hopefully get more chance to give it a try :D

even i have the 35 ART. you must be the only fool in this forum who hasnt by now ;)

I was holding out in the hope the Nikon 35 f/1.8G would be any good at a realistic price

I popped in to LCE Strand a few days ago to have a look at the Sigma and it is indeed a cracking lens, much better quality then I expected from a Sigma :p

Now I just need to debate trading in my 17-35 towards one in anticipation of an impending 14-24 purchase or save the pennies and get them both :o
