Seems sharp to me (after keying in some fine tuning due to front focusing), only got chance for a few shots before the weather turned, all wide open.

Yes it is the Sigma 120-300 2.8, however I've been looking for 300 2.8s; I wasn't after the zoom I just happened across this one specifically, it'll likely only ever be used at 300mm anyway.

The workflow went like this: Vuescan -> Photoshop CS6 -> Dust/Scratch cloning (not much of an issue with colour negs) -> Curves/Levels -> Resize -> Smart Sharpen, remove lens blur

Ordered a Peli 1560.. I'm so happy to be finally moving from back packs to a case. For a light shoot a back pack is fine snd indeed preferable, but I generally take too many bags and it becomes a mission to lug them around. It will also come in handy when making pre and post shoot checks. Plus I can sit and stand on a peli so it's win win..... Almost forgot.. Wheels.. It has wheels.. Awesome!!
 
Arrived today.

25yr old Vivitar 70-210mm f2.8, old Minolta fit so works with my A580 & A77 fine. Its in nigh on mint condition and the AF is pretty snappy. Paid under £300 for it, I've just gotta work out whether its a bargain or not yet :D
 
is it wrong to reserve a spot as I'm well excited about what should be arriving in the next few days? Nothing on some of the kit in this thread but will be a big upgrade on my current 30D and Sigma 17-70mm setup?

What have you gone for? I'm wondering what to upgrade to from my 30D/17-50mm, quite tempted with a D7000.
 
Just taken delivery of a tasty not so little Nikon 16-35 AF-S F4 VR
Bloody annoyed because it's chucking it down outside so i can't play :(

Oh! How much? Where from? Colour and foam or dividers?

only downside about them is the lack of ground clearance on the wheels. very easy to get a small stone wedged and then its SCCCCRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPE. oh and the handles when heavily loaded arent comfy.

otherwise yes awesome, need to swap my foam for dividers though.
