Holy moly, someone won the lottery ! :p

Cheers. :) I know it's not up to much really compared to a lot of enthusiasts on here but it'll give me good practice until i need better equipment. :)
And that's what it's all about, you will get the bug and want a better lens, after 10 years of owning a DSLR and 3 different brands I've got some professional lens now and a good camera,it all takes time but it's a great journey.

It's all about the enjoyment regardless of what you have or use. Like Schizo says, once you get the bug its a good journey :)

Another piece of equipment I would recommend is a black rapid sport strap.

I had the normal neck strap but couldn't get on with it,I so like the shoulder strap black rapid offer,it keeps your camera on your side instead of in front of you,it's so much easier to control at the side than onyour chest.

Have a look at some videos and see what you think.

You don't have to spend thousands to get great results. You're already in a different universe compared to most point and shoot cams.

I started my "half decent camera" journey with a 1000D, kit lens and a manual focus 75-300. My first time out with it was shooting a concert, and I ended up with some stuff I'm still pretty proud of today. Lenses like the 70-200 f2.8 II make things easier I'll grant you, but at 28 times the price, the results won't be 28 times better than your 70-300.

Cheers all :)

Will hopefully get time this weekend to try the 75-300, I might buy a tripod and go out and get some shots, easier than carrying the camera everywhere. :)

Thanks for the recommendation Schizo about the strap, will look at that. :)

I've got a tripod you can have for postage to get you going if you want.

Will update later as what one it is.
