The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Tried the Jellyfish rom last night, but had a few niggles with some error screen pooping up, so put on the FLB-Froyo G2 and it all seems good.

I like the Portable wifi hotspot option, will be useful.

I do need to get a new battery cover as the glass bit for the camera cracked and fell out :( and more of the soft touch coating is rubbing off.

I was told I could have x mins, unlimited texts, and 'unlimited' internet (500mb)...Yet when the bill comes through it states 80mb =/....

Called them, and waited a week for a call back as they were trying to find the call when I took the contract out...Everytime I phone no one has a clue whats going on!!!

Anyway, apparently I cant have unlimited internet on the talk plan that i'm on...??? And they offered me unlimited for £5 extra a month...mm no =/...So I ended up gettig put through to management to get 250mb bolt on for free...

They're bloody ridiculous :(

I cant comment on the personal contract customer support but there business support that I use is generally spot on :) At least youve got something for nothing in the end :)

Nearly everytime i've phoned up, people are helpful...well, the females anyway, the males just want a quick sale and thats it.

But when something is wrong, it started off well with 'well look into the call for you and call you back in 24 hours', after that it went to pot :p

I 'did' get something for nothing, but when you took out a contract on the basis that you were getting x y and z, you should have got x y z....that's whats annoyed me

Funny thing is, she said 'oh your monthly average on data usage is only 5mb anyway'...ive only had the phone a month you nit wit! :p
 
Caved in and registered on the XDA forum just to download setCPU. Seems there's another thing to download, the HW UI. Is the UI faster and smoother with this? If not, I won't bother.
 
Did not notice any difference with the overclocking tbh. Angry birds still stutters around with it set to 710mhz. The new Jellyfish Rom has nearly halved my battery life though..?
 
Right, just installed the following:

JJ RLS6
JJ ABH OC RLS6
JJ HW UI RLS6

Extracted setCPU from the ZIP that I downloaded earlier and dropped it into the app folder. Also increased the VM size to 38 from 24.

Booting now!

Edit: Oh yeah, setCPU is there and working. Get in there! I'm really starting to like messing about with the files and settings on this phone.
 
Could anyone with this mobile do me a quick favour and see if the phone can load this web page, and play the video stream.

It's just a random site with a streaming cam, looks like it plays using WMP, is the mobile capable of streaming somthing lilke this off the net?
via 3G or wifi, does'nt matter.

I can't even view it in firefox with without manual install of WM11

etting the ?box for the page with std browser on both my X10 and OSF

so you will need to install WM11 for the phone browser (if its available)

I'm back to my normal phone usage now, which is barely a few messages a day and a short call. Took the phone off charge at 11pm last night and its on 98% at the moment.

I only turn on wifi, gps, 3g when i need it.

P.S Free chicken from the Kernel would be good. In the hot and spicy coating that you can get in Europe rather than the plain original available here.
