The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Giffgaff SIM arrived, unlocked, installed, topped up :). Any ideas how I activate net access? Giffgaff not showing up in Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Networks :(.

got to the market page & download a app from there called giffgaff, run it & it will put the settings on

If my 12month O2 contract wasn't until July, I'd be signing with GiffGaff! Mind you... I did get £100 quidco money on mine, so it only costs me £6.67 a month effectively! :) .

I,m with GiffGaff and they are good the only thing i find is the call quality is awfull for some reason. Compared to Orange it sounds quite muffled even with a good signal..?

Its fine with Orange though ?? Its not a deal breaker its just noticeably worse than Orange..

maybe its the o2 mast in your area then.

Its as clear for me as the Tmobile i use for work, but both suffer from line issues depending where I am in relation to signal strength etc.

(edit)
Can't seem to find anything obvious about this as an issue when I googled it - Im going to try calling a m8 later who is on Orange with a Giffgaff PAYG sim, see if I can hear any difference.

I rersearched the San Fran for ages and ages, drove my wife potty!!!

She went away for a week or so. While she was away i got myself a lovely iphone (Don't stab me guys!! lol). Day before yesterday she comes back from her trip away(working in london) and lo and behold, she hands me a box. Guess what it is?

A brand new San Francisco!!!

She was gutted when i told her i had got the iphone. Awwwww. She couldn't send it back as it was past the 7 day thingy so its going on the bay!!

Now, if she had told me she was going to buy me one then all would have been ok!! Women!!

unlocked 2.2 san frans are going on ebay for over 120 quid for some bizarre reason.

Quick heads up on the battery with the overclocks i'm running (768 - 122Mhz).

Turned the phone on this morning spot on at 8am after charging it last night, it's not 6:33pm and it's gone from 100 to 99. This is with turning the screen on a couple of times and checking messages.

Note that I look after my battery and not had a single problem with the life as some people report in here. I only charge it when it's fully dis-charged.

You must have everything turned off...? That would be around 50 days of life.

Well...mine easily lasts 3 days or more...But I dont have GPS and 3G on constantly, as I dont need it on constantly :)

Yeah I have Advanced Task Manager running by INFOLIFE LLC or something like that, it's the only one that actually work and it works well. That and setCPU are the only two things ever running and i've set it so once the screen dims after 30 seconds it kills all processes bar those two. Also the reduced clock from 245 idle to 122 is probably helping too, when the phone is not in use it's basically being kept on life support lol.

Edit: And everything on that Power Control wiget is turned off bar the screen, so no background 3G BS and any other jazz.

I have everything running on mine and it just makes 10 hours. I just plug it in when at home its only a fiver for a new battery when it gives up so not too bothered..
