The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

The gingerbread keyboard is extremely responsive. I don't like it, but when forced to use it you barely even need to touch the letters, on mine they just popup lightening fast. I don't see how it could be any quicker.

The touch screen is pretty responsive tbh, far better then implied.
but, as already mentioned it really depends upon the keyboard sotware and kernel used.
Can't say I ever tried it stock Orange rom/KB so it could be that?

Have you tried using a Linux live CD? The drivers aren't the best for windows.

Ended up doing a few restarts and trying a few more times, worked in the end *shrug*, no idea what was up :(.

Installed MoDaCo Custom Froyo 2.2 and all is fine. Although reading FLB-Froyo G2 I think I'll try this one tonight :).

deffinitely give jellyfish a try, although RSL7 looks to be coming very soon, so maybe wait for that.

Release 7 of Jellyfish is up.

Might hold off updating to be honest, not had a single problem with any of the Jelly releases.

RLS7
  • * gps.conf back to pre-RLS6 version
  • * resolv.conf removed (don't think it was used anyway and have only seen it in CM releases)
  • * VPN menus enabled in Settings.
  • * Automatic time setting enabled in Settings.
  • * Signal indicators fixed (using same levels as in ZTE 2.1 ROMs)
  • * Original Alarm clock back (has more options) but can be replaced with Desk Clock through addon if DeskClock is preferred.
  • * Stock Filer app back as it can be good to have a simple file manager in place.
  • * Removed lots of lib connected to the iwnnime (japanese IME) that was removed erlier. (Size of system is now below 120Mb)
  • * Changed HH.MM time display to HH:MM in Danish, Norwegian and Finnish language files.
  • * Added more PPP options in kernel (for VPN).
  • * Circle battery indicator is no longer the default but can be added as an addon.
  • * Added Sebastians RA recovery (with CM colors) to the "image" install as it supports EXT4 and also the addons needs a recovery image.
  • * I'm sorry but it is NOT resigned with test keys as I promised it would be. I'm afraid resigning everything with testkeys can lead to problems when updates to "stock" apps like Gmail and Market arrives. This needs to be investigated further before testsigning the release.

RLS7 installs over the top of RLS6 no issues, no wipe needed.

Jumped 30points in quadrant too for me with hardware UI enabled.

Just put this on the wifes blade....its very nice and makes you realise how crap the orange blade is with the stock rom.

the fixes alone make it worth dropping RSL7 over the top of RSL6, it goes right over without hassle.
All apps etc will stil lwork, and no need to clear cache so passwords are also saved.
