The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

surely if the phone is accepting push notifications then its not really sleeping since the app needs to be running and constantly checking online for new messages.

I just wait and check my emails online at my convenience rather than when the phone tells me to.

I want to know when I have a email when I get one, not when I remember to check :)

Is flibbles rom the most stable? My phone works fairly well on eclair but it's a bit slow at times.

just flashed my sf using the jelly fish rom, so far so good, only thing is the contacts.

in the dialer/contacts they show up once, some i have a pic for the icon etc.

but when i've received messages from them the icon in the messages just shows the grey android icon rather than the picture i've set.

also selecting create new message then clicking contacts every contact shows up twice.

anyone else had this or know how to solve it.

EDIT: Went back to the restored orange rom, as the jellyfish on started give an error message when trying to load messages kept saying something about an error occured and the process has been stopped try again - which is no good. so i restored back to orig rom and used titanium backup to remove the orange apps.

My case and car mount solution

Pro-tec Executive Leather Case (I think this one is actually for a HTC Desire)

Clingo Universal Phone stand
Brodit car mount
Brodit Moveclip 213005 - male part mounted on a tilt/swivel, female part stuck on the back of the Clingo
The Clingo has been modified by me. Normally the smaller clingo disc is on the opposite face to the ring, but I cut it out and stuck it in the centre of the ring with some double sided sticky tape, so there's more clingo for the phone to stick to. The remaining face serves as a dust cover when there's no phone attached. The Brodit moveclip allows me to remove the clingo to clean it. You can also just see where I've cut away part of the clingo to make it easier to open.
