The new Samsung Odyssey G9 Mini Led

Thanks. I was just thinking ahead in case my problem gets worse. And my problem is that DPD did not deliver today because apparently Samsung just provided a postcode and road name - not the number of the house. DPD insist that they must get this from Samsung, not me. So now I'm chatting with Samsung. Incompetence!

Samsung sliced off half my address from the label, luckily I know the DPD driver. Pob lwc!

Started with Samsung chat but got nowhere. Now speaking to someone at the call centre but I don't have much confidence.

Sorry for the spam but I guess it can be helpful for other folks to read about what can go wrong. The person on chat was of no obvious help but in the end I have been offered a refund of the £3.99 delivery fee and a goodwill voucher. The person at the call centre at least tried to phone DPD but its too late now. Looks like I need to phone again first thing tomorrow and hope I can get some action. Maybe if someone phones DPD soon enough then I'll get my monitor tomorrow. I have doubts.

I shouldn't have to be doing this and I shouldn't have to ask. For those who had their Neo G9 delivery today, please can you let me know what information was on the delivery label that can be matched against the Samsung order information? This is so I can be ready to prove to the DPD driver that I am the correct recipient. I'm hoping that my order number UKxxxxxx-yyyyyyyy will be on the label.

On mine there's my name, address and contact information. I don't see the Samsung order number. But, the DPD tracking number that we were sent via email is on the label, so definitely use that.

Are you referring to the 10 digit tracking number that Samsung provided that was NOT recognised on the DPD site?

Hows everyone getting on with there new monitors? I have mine set up but alas with nothing to plug in. Hopefully be up and running in next couple of days. Might throw a sickie this week. I’ve noticed some light bleed on mine. Anyone else?

So far it's been really good, though I find that the HDR Dynamic is unusable, picture just looks so bad (inaccurate). HDR Standard is great though, I can see why HUB preferred this mode. Just wish that Standard went a bit brighter like Dynamic.

HDMI allows 3440x1440 at 144hz, I'll be using this a fair bit if games don't support it over DisplayPort.

Briefly tried an Xbox one series X but my HDMI 2.0 cable is clearly limiting me, ordered a 2.1 cable so will continue testing that tomorrow.

Will test PBP properly tomorrow but I couldn't go above 120hz. Did try PBP with 3440x1440 on pc and 1680x1440 laptop and that worked great though no HDR but for work it's great.

Interesting option in Response Time, Motion Blur Reduction but it's greyed out. Have tried all sorts to get that option available but must be something Samsung are working on via a FW update.

What else.......not really played games but I'm more into movies/tv and using this for work. Did play Gears 5 and that worked in HDR fine, did need to mess around with the HDR calibration in game but it looked perfectly fine.

I think them options are greyed out if you have adaptive sync enabled. I might be wrong though. Glad to hear your getting on ok with it. Just need the dynamic hdr sorting out with a firmware fix
Did think that, tried it but still greyed out.

Also, messed around with the other Response time options but don't seem to make much difference unlike with the original g9. In HDR mode there seems to be a bit more trailing/ghosting in the UFO pursuit test but nothing major.

Mine has started to make some light popping sounds although not as loud, frequent and annoying as the previous G9. This time it's somewhere in the middle/back of the monitor.
I guess it's inevitable since it has similar plastic case.

This is soooo tempting. I've been on a 60Hz 1440p Dell IPS for about 10 years and have just got myself a 3080. I've been looking at the AW3821DW becasue it's IPS however the G9 would be really great for work (web developer). It's a little disappoitning on ports though. I use 3 USB for mouse and keyboard to share between Macbook and PC. I guess I could use an external hub (would need a new DP + USB switch anyway).

Anyone gone from IPS to this? How does it fare?

So quiet from the G9 Neo owners club! Huge buyers remorse or too much fun being had! ;)

How’s the new display going. Anyone experiencing popping yet? Confirmed HDR issues? Anyone using it for productivity, more specifically coding?

def want one, on the fence about jumping now or hoping for price reduction in next few months.

I'd love to be responding to that but I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered after Samsung messed up all the address labels. I don't like to be pessimistic but since Samsung seemed to have sold their entire first stock at the full price (or up to 10% discount depending on scheme), it doesn't bode well for them to consider a price reduction any time soon.

Ha! No buyers remorse, just a single blue stuck pixel that I'm trying to fix but so far no good.

Productivity is great, but I don't code so I can't help there sorry. PBP 120hz is great, can choose if you want 2560 x 1440 for each or 3440 x 1440 for one and 1680x1440 for the other which I quite like.

HDR in gaming is a bit iffy, raised blacks is an issue, seems like the gamma curve or eotf is totally off. Played a bit of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and it appeared too bright as in grey blacks, rather washed out. Bit of tinkering I managed to get it to look a lot better but still doesn't quite appear right.

These won't drop in price yet but you never know, the original G9 did throw up some good deals when stock was readily available. Might have to wait until towards the end of the year or early next.

The first digit on my house number was missing from my label. Luckily my phone number was on it so the driver called me.

The monitor is epic. Mind you, I've been using triple 10-year-old Dell monitors. So it was bound to blow my mind.

No pops on mine. I don't like the HDR modes. You can compensate with your graphics card. For example, in the Nvidia control panel, you can increase the brightness/contrast to overcome the dimming that the HDR modes add. I may have another play with this But generally, I prefer to disable these features even on televisions.

PBP is good. I have half screen setup for work and the other for personal. I need to work out how to force the left side to always be HDMI1 and the right side to be DP as it currently has a bit of a mind of its own. Also, the monitor did not wake up when the PC came on this morning. So lots of little niggles to iron out. Best I read the "manual".

Oh, no stuck pixels!
