The new Samsung Odyssey G9 Mini Led

Beware! My experience today trying to pre-order online in the UK today.

First order with credit card. Receive email to say order is complete and delivery will be On August 9th. 10 minutes later I receive an email saying my order has been cancelled with no reason given. Try for a second time...order received and complete. 10 minutes later I receive an email to say my order has been cancelled.

I contact support through live chat and a very helpful lady advised me to go through the order online and they will email me the order for payment and completion. After 35 minutes of online chat I receive the email and order and decide to pay with my debit card this time. Order completed and money taken from my bank. The chat lady confirms that all is well with my order and I should receive my monitor on 9th August....10 minutes later I receive an email to say my order has been cancelled! Back to chat again. I am told firstly that the product is no longer available, secondly, I am emailed to tell me that my order has been 'deemed a high security risk'! This is after they have taken £1849 from my account!

Further enquiries reveal that Samsung has refunded my money. Make of this what you will, just a heads up guys. I personally have given up trying to pre order this monitor.

Cheers.

When these hit sub £1000 I will definitely pick one up. This time next year I think they will be.. given that they are selling the neo g9 now in UAE for £970!!

Hmm wonder what the improvements can be.. I guess more dimming zones. Doubt they'll go above HDR 2000 that soon.

But yeah a 21.9 version would be good. Or just standard 1440p/4k flat panel with dimming and HDR 2000.

You probably wont have to wait that long for it to come on offer. They are producing some amazing screens now Samsung, the G9 is pretty close to perfect. They just need more games to allow you to fully customize the FOV!

£1849 damn not too bad. Although found a website saying in AED it's only 5000 which is £979?!

Because they don't have to pay all the taxes, electricals are always cheaper in them countries. Remember we live in rip off Britain, where they tax you on your income and everything you buy, them countries no such taxes.

I have the original g9 but a more current batch and I literally have not one issue with it. I've never heard it pop under expansion or contraction.

I have the current 55w batch too. Was delivered 2 weeks ago but pops for a good 2 hours. If I adjust the brightness, it will pop for another 2 hours before stopping. It's ok if I leave it alone lol.
Even brightness at 0-6% it pops -_-

Looks fantastic. I'll admit that I could have lived with the "before" level of light bleed, but it's great that I don't have to.

In theory I get mine next week (but of course I expect delays these days) - can anyone point to info/links for apps etc that I should use to check for defects - particularly defective pixels?
