The New Stargate Universe Thread

The show has some really nice background musical pieces imo. Joel Goldsmith does some fine work.

I quite like the Destiny theme tbh, especially when its played in the first scene of the series when we first see the ship, it's very eerie and empty and just fits the whole feel of the scene/ship very well.

I much prefer stuff like this than the silly musical montages they've been slipping in. They just don't have any atmosphere to them and i find them to be very out of place with the rest of the show.

Very on/off.

Every half decent episode that reminds you of it being stargate, and why you're still watching, they then fill the next episode full of total pap that drifts off in a different direction. Thing is you can work that stuff in to the show to drag it along, giving it more appeal.

As it stands, im clutching at straws for reasons to carry on watching it. Obviously it's stargate, those hooks are still there.. but, ill be more happy to eat my words, it's not going to be looked back on as anything great. Atlantis and SG allways will for me, atm this is startgates enterprise.

I am starting to enjoy this more also, so many more characters than a usual stargate series, and they are beginning to link them together well.
Still no great team, and thats more realistic of life, eventually that'll probably come also.

The main distraction for me is the shear size of the brunette marine's breasts. They truly take over the screen whenever she is on.

They look great in 50" glory! :D

The missus thinks otherwise though.. At least shes a Stargate addict like me!

Well last nights was fairly boring unfortunately, it was interesting for the first twenty minutes or so but just kept dragging and dragging.

Something strange though, when Eli jokes about token black guy being afraid of the dark I actually began to warm to the token black guy's character (how is it I still don't know names yet this show made a point of spending ten episodes introducing everyone), in fact he is fast becoming an interesting character

I was actually hoping that the token black dude, got left behind on the planet. On a personal level, I don't like him.

In a way, I kinda liked last night's episode. I actually found it a bit moving the way that Rush was ignoring his dying wife to work on cracking Destiny's code. Though he knew it was a dream you did get a sense of the turmoil he was going through.

I also liked how they didn't come up with an instant solution that saved the day at the last minute like tends to happen quite a lot with other SG franchises.

It was what she said to him at the end that moved me the most, about him not taking his anger over her death out on everyone else. I am hoping to see a change in his character now.

Yer I liked that too, right at the end when rush and his team came back through, I was expecting it to be eli and the other two, but its good that it wasn't.
It all hangs on rush now to save the day now though, dum dum dummmm.

To stand up against the millitary personnel, you need to have balls and have belief that what the millitary are doing is wrong. I think Eli failed on both accounts.

"Lost" was great last night, was expecting them to get back onto the ship in the nick of time so was fairly shocked when the ship left.

Obviously they'll find some way to turn the ship around or to get the team members back as I can't see them killing off three main characters in the first season.

Glad token black guy wasn't killed off though.

Bit dubious as to how they'll deal with the pregnancy considering Teyla's was so poorly handled.
