The Newcastle United Club Thread **No Spoilers**

@BaZ87 dont worry about **** on my chips. Newcastle doing a good job of that on the field. I’m not expecting 100m+ match day. I think it’s estimated to come in around 40m for last year.

Newcastle have a range of hospitality tickets atm ranging from 180 to 400 depending on the type. Various parts of the stadium and make shift small restaurants. They do seem to sell out.

The pile of containers they built out the front pulled in over 1 million on the run up before Christmas. Next years figures as well as retail being in house.(fan zone)

That’s more of the point I’m trying to make. We really don’t have good facilities at present. Pig with lipstick as some would put it.

The press have stated exactly what you said. The stadium capacity has to reflect the demand. Demand increases revenue.

they also don't have anything like the competition for supporters any other club does, pretty much anybody North of the Tyne up to Scotland and pretty far West is going to be a Toon fan because it's the only major club up here across several counties!
And by the same token, and possibly more importantly from a revenue perspective, there is very little competition to a potential new stadium for staging other big events, sporting and otherwise.

I don't want to **** on your chips but as I said in my earlier post, look at West Ham. They've got this 62k seater modern stadium with all the facilities in the world and they're in London but their matchday revenue shows you that they're just isn't the demand for West Ham to increase general admission prices or sell loads of hospitality packages.

I'm not entirely sure where Newcastle sit in this but my gut feeling is they're not going to see as big of an impact from a new stadium as some of your fans think. I'm sure you'll sell more tickets and there will be more hospitality tickets sold but I don't think we're going to be seeing Newcastle posting £100m+ in match day revenue anytime soon.
Our matchday revenue for 23/24 was £56m and demand is there for tickets, our hospitality box and season ticket waiting list are in the 100’s and 1000s respectively, £80-90m match day revenue isn’t beyond the realm’s of possibility, and the fact that we’re not borrowing to build the new stadium means no interest or loan repayments.

That's impressive if correct. Think i quoted 22/23 season.

Only time will tell but I wouldn't get too hung up on those waiting lists. The majority of those waiting for a season ticket will be attending matches most weeks, buying game by game and the majority wanting an executive box will be buying other hospitality packages now too. A very quick look on your website, there are hospitality packages available for all remaining games. There doesn't appear to be huge scope for a big increase in corporate tickets and ultimately general admission tickets don't really move the needle.

as you say only time will tell, but I’m willing to bet that after the first season in the new stadium the match day revenue will be closer to £100m than £75m

Given that there's not been a decision re your stadium, let alone planning etc, who knows when it will happen. If it was the no brainer you think it will be, I'd question why it's taking this long and there still not be a decision on what you're doing.

It will be a new stadium, and it will be announced before the season finishes, put it this way I’m that confident it will be announced, I’m happy to have my user name changed to wopster loves Liverpool if it doesn’t
