The Newcastle United Club Thread **No Spoilers**

Like I said, stop getting hung up about season tickets or boxes. Many of those that are waiting for a season ticket will be members now, buying up tickets through members or general sales, similarly those that want boxes (which aren't nearly as profitable as lounges etc) will be taking other hospitality options. The number that matters is how many more beyond those that are buying tickets already. Re season tickets/general admission tickets I don't know enough about your ticketing to have a great idea but the fact that I can buy a hospitality ticket for every remaining game at St James's Park tells me that there's not a huge queue of people waiting to be ripped off.

Anyway, we're just going round in circles now so I'll leave it there.

TBF you're probably right about the income potential of the fan base up here, but still think (as an immigrant Forest fan) you underestimate how much potential in volume there is.

The other thing that limits their potential income is the current location, there's so many pubs / facilities / good restaurants near the ground that they're going to have to provide one hell of an offering to get people to spend more in the stadium.

You can be at the ground after leaving, what 15 mins before, having been at a Michelin starred restaurant, strip club, pool hall, every type of pub or bar you can imagine, soon to be a Hooters...

or you could just have a meal before you leave which would be more common if the only option was really expensive club stuff, just because they have a monopoly on food and drink.

They already have the stack adding revenue and a few footballers have been there for a drink which likely increases peoples chance of going there, even when theres not a game on.

Newcastke beed a bigger ground that doesn;'t sell out every week, then they could convert a bunch of the foreign students into fans.

the place must be surrounded by thousands of student rooms, and none of them will ever be able to get a ticket.

The ground will sell out every week as long as the team is producing a product worth paying for. There is no interest in having spare tickets for students, or anyone else really that isn't prepared to shell out 100's. The club, like others, is trying to maximise it's revenue and wesimmo makes an excellent point about the grounds location. It's one of the very few remaining grounds that is properly city centre. You can get to it from any part of town in 20 minutes.

I just read the Darren Eales interview. Not really said anything you wouldn’t expect him to and not given any details away or any statement he can be held accountable to. Bluster bingo hyped up by Ryders usual cheerleading.
