The Nokia N80

I'm hoping to get the N80 by either staying with O2 or switching to Flext with my friend's 50% colleague discount. Most of the reviews I've seen have been positive, and the only other phone that tempts me is the N93, but that's not out until later this year.

Just managed to get one of these for free on a Vodafone contract (Black version) :cool:


Black is soooooooooooo much more sexy than the pony silver version! :D
 
Nice one mate - i'm still waiting on mine :( ... hopefully they will hold true on their pre-order deliveries beginning this week (15th may on ward)
Hopefully yours is all in working order! unlike spawns dodgy one (supposedly) !
I am really hoping this hurries up an arrives cos i have other things to worry about - namely revising for final exams (2nd yr uni) :o
 
Only thing is now that i have a useless 2gb minisd card that i was going to use with the n80 but seeing as i no longer have that phone, i have a 2gb card that i dont know what to use it in and i cant return it as it came from HK via ebay lol:p.

Oh well guess ill find something to put it in one day, cant even sell it on MM thanks to some heavy handed don:p.
 
Really hope these onestopphoneshop dudes get some n80`s in soon! ordered it last monday and I could really do with it for the end of this week.

Might have to give them a call later to see when some stock is due in, after seeing all these nice pictures I want mine now!
 
I want a P990i, but it don't look like their gonna be out before the end of June but I want to take advantage of the 1000 free text offer running on orange atm.

Do you think I would get enough on the bay from the sale of an N80 to buy a P990 when it comes out?

Hard to say, i just sent mine back for a refund as i had 21 days in which to do so. It cost me near enough £540 to buy it sim free so with that refund i should be able to get the p990i when its released.

The n80 is now selling for about £500 from the place i originally bought mine from.
 
I just called upgrades on O2 and they say they will be launching on 5th June - I thought that it was already out on O2?

Do we know if they were on upgrade or new contracts? Also I was told by upgrades that I can't pre-order! :(

Well o2 were supposed to get them and release them on 15th may but due to some software problems they have had to put back the date. This is what i have heard through the grapevine, the people who are getting them on o2 are getting them from independant dealers so i imagine those handsets are sim free and dont have any network branding on them as of such.

Tbh i had this phone and honestly i did not rate it in the slightest, bulky and had quite a few bugs in it..software wise and the way the phone is set out...well its quite the most fustrating phone to use. Black does look nice but the blue lighting on the keypad especially the green dial button...it doesnt light up green like on most phones.

Perhaps if nokia had thought about the design more then this phone would have been a winner, imho it isnt and i dont think its worth it. Im now waiting on the p990i from SE, that looks to be a killer phone tbh but then all *** p series phones were killers imho...in fact i think i SE have got it right whereas nokia really havent tbh.

As per my post, its not available as an upgrade yet....although you could buy it on a new contract though quite easily but upgrading wise you wont be able to get it simple as that until o2 release it themselves.
 
I've just called o2 and was also told 5th June :(

Although when I called last week I was told today, I can't see how they keep changing it.. I bet when we get the phones, the firmware and software date stamps will be from months ago anyway!
 
Yup, just rung o2 today and was also told 5th June :( I really can't keep waiting this long for this phone! And by the sounds of it, it has far too many niggles to be an all roung good phone.

The E61 is also out on o2 on 5th June, and the N91 is out this Friday (19th May).
The guy said as my account with them is pretty good I can get the phone for free, and people on the lower band have to pay around £150 :eek:

I'm going to go for the N91. N70 is nearly a year old and the N91 will be worth more when I come to sell it.

The N80 is nice yes, but I can't be doing with all the waiting? What if they push it back even more?

Hope you like you N91 then - i have already been waiting over a week an well so far nothin - this week hopefully tho it'll arrive, you can always sell the n91 an get an n80 if you really wanted to so yea its not all that bad i spose :)
I'm in it till i get mine anyhows ... need it rather bad too as my charger is at home an i don't have one here at uni so my phones dead atm :o
 
is there a major improvment over the N70. o2 are doing it free with a £19pm 12 month contract. already with o2 with my k750i. or am i best waiting for n80. One thing im interested in is having sat nav on the phone if its poss.
