The **Now Drinking** Thread

I find it very hard to believe that Tennent's was the first lager. It was set up in 1885. Lager is a process, more than a name anyway but it's become diluted. Guinness didn't make Harp, it (or at least was) a separate company iirc.
I don't generally drink 'exotic' pils, as I don't really see the point. There's not much to them so would prefer to spend my money on other beers.

aye your right. harp is a separate company. still not a bad pint. dunno where i read that about tennents.
yeah, too many other nice beers to try. though this weathers good lagering weather for the ould homebrew lol.

All Harp in the U.K. and Ireland is 4.0% . Eire (Southern Ireland) use to be 4.3% the only 5% Harp is Harp Export which is mainly exported to Canada :) (you lucky lucky sod) ;)

ha ha. im in norn iron at the moment but have had a few good nights on the canadian import. weird over there walking into a pub and seeing caffreys, smithwicks, kilkenny and harp taps. its rare you see that over here these days.
i think even the smithwicks was 5% as well lol.

I love Smitchwicks, only found it in one pub in Glasgow so far though - and one in Moscow. Lovely beer though, goes down lovely when you've got a hangover.

Heh, know what you mean about homebrew. Though I think the coldness has killed off my yeast in a few of my brews. My flat is freezing most of the time, think it's time to move the production to my friends flat which is far warmer.

12yo Glenfiddich. Also have a bottle of Isle of Jura I might dabble in later.

Sainsbury's have a Glenrothes Select Reserve which caught my eye and kept it while I was umming and ahhing over it yesterday.
