Currently drinking a bottle of 'Angel's Reserve' Torrontés 2011. A rather tasty white wine from the La Rioja region of Argentina. Fruity and floral with a pleasing crispness
It's 48% which is nice - I'm a fan of cask strengths - and it has a nice punchy feel to it. It really coats the mouth nicely, nice and thick. It's got a good long finish (another plus) and a lot of malt is coming through without a great amount of smoke/peat.
Adding a drop of water seems to remove some of the punchiness, which I think is a bad thing so I'll just be drinking it straight.
I'd love to hear how you guys you think you pronounce 'Garioch'.
May as well pour myself another beer since I have the space.
Hoegaarden Grand Cru. Works well with the above whisky, the fruitiness of the beer cuts through the alcohol left in the mouth from the whisky pretty well.
