I went to check out a new supermarket which has opened near us. Turns out I'm a complete sucker for anything they put a "aus dieser Region" (i.e. local produced) tag on, and this happened:

The one of the left is a herbal spirit of some kind, the one on the right is a salt licorice liqueur which is very much one for my wife and not me, and I don't think I need to explain what the on in the middle is.

The herbal one is most pleasant, kind of like Jägermeister but nice, think how a low end single malt is to Teachers. The licorice one is one of the nastiest things I've ever tasted but my wife loves it - but then I already knew she had bad taste ;)

The popcorn rum smells exactly like stuffing your face into a bucket of butter popcorn. Tastes decent but I've had better rums of late

Tried a Beer Monster IPA other day despite me thinking it was going to be trash as a discount dragon 'own brand' beer, it was very good

Aldi's 'own' wheat beer. It's better than an Erdinger, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't made by Weihenstephaner or someone. Enjoy it.

It's actually not too bad, but the film is as terrible as one would expect, in fact it's bordering on being so awful it's almost good.
