The **Now Eating** Thread

Got this today, so many memories as a kid eating these. Just disappointed only 1 bag of Milk Bottles :(

Had this for dinner last night. Morrisons decided to go one better than their volcanic vindaloo. Forget about it being a supermarket curry, it's bloody rocket fuel! I ate it and it tasted nice, but the burn was intense and lasted a good half hour. Woke me up a few times in the night as well with a conga dancing colon. Bit sore this morning lol. It's the only curry I've seen that you have to be 16 to buy! Try it at your peril!

I had the vindaloo last week (special offer at 2 quid...). For me it was bonkers hot. I pretty much emptied the 4 pinter of milk I'd bought at the same time, and even then I'd probably eaten about half of it. :(
I know I'm a mega wuss and all that but actually it really did taste very good and normally I find ready-meal curries pretty grim, so was a bit gutted I couldn't finish it.

I watched a youtube video of some guy eating it straight from the packet (sans rice etc) and he was all meh about it. Bonkers.

you maybe a super-taster .. article on the radio today

eg.
...
supertasters boast 35-60. Their opposite numbers, known as non-tasters, have less than 15. (Find out which you are by following the instructions below; all you need are a drop of blue food coloring, a magnifying glass, and a friend.)
Supertasters are more sensitive to flavors than the rest of us are. To supertasters, sweet and sour are more intense, capsaicin—the chemical that puts the burn in hot peppers—is positively painful, and mildly bitter flavors that to damped-down, middle-of the-road tasters are pleasant—the edge in black coffee, for example, or the zing in hops-heavy beer—are, at best, off-putting and at worst, repulsive.

Can You Tell What It Is Yet ? - mango shards, Banh Pho Thuong Hang ?... there is a lot of them though ...
(.. recipe link ? have a surplus, from when I had a gas hob able to do stir fries )

Went for a day out in Glasgow today. I was blissfully unaware that they were filming stuff for Fast and Furious there today, so a load of streets were sealed off. Almost didn't get to go to Brown's, a new place I wanted to try for breakfast. But I managed to get a security guard to let me through the barriers to the restaurant.

Smashed avocado on sourdough toast with feta cheese and toasted pumpkin seeds, with added poached eggs. This was really nice. The poached eggs were really good :D

Went to lunch at Patisserie Valerie. Again had to get let through a barrier to get inside. The Valerie club sandwich is delicious. And for dessert I had warm pecan tart with vanilla ice cream. So tasty :D

What's the contingency plan when Pat Val closes?! It seems to be one of your favourites.

I've got to say, was never really overly enamoured by Pat Val offerings until all this news of its potential demise. I think I will miss it if it leaves the high street.

thought about trying this had the atomic vindaloo didnt find it hot tbh wasnt bad though. phaal from a proper indian isnt a thing to mess about with. think these will probably just be a milder version. they still doing them ? often they remove them shortly after doing them.
