Salad, ham, cheese and pesto (hark at me) pitta
Oh, if you aren't going to use flatbread to prevent any further crimes against pitta may I suggest instead of sawing it as above, cut it in half and then fill it up as intended into each pocket with your filling. It will hold better.
 
Pittas are a PITA but I've found really sharp scissors, snip an opening then work your way round, seems to tear less than using a knife. The Warburtons pocket ones are ok but don't quite have the right taste or texture...quite nice toasted though.
