The **Now Eating** Thread

Nothing says "It's nearly the end of the week, and we're moving out next Friday and minimsing food" quite like 4 scrambled eggs, with pineapple, jalepenos and gherkins...

I hoped people would realise my foreign muck comment was tongue in cheek, but obviously not.

Apart from pie and mash, I think most of my meals are of foreign origin. Even franks, egg and chips. (Franks are German). There is some argument that even fish and chips is actually Portuguese in origin and not British.

I cannot speak for others, but my comments are tongue in cheek as well and knew that's want you meant :D

I just had a little look at his channel and noticed the Gluten Free battered Fish 'n Chips' Mr Kerridge is using. I would have to agree that anything coated in a Gluten Free derived batter just isn't worth the bother and I'm Ceoliac, not just some-one with a Fad. It's not like I would be eating a shed load of Nuts... etc. Long term Gluten load is a problem.
If I have Fish 'n' Chips it's gotta be the real deal even for me.
I have to disagree with you there. Having used GF breadcrumbs on chicken schnitzels, I find them far superior to normal breadcrumbs. I think it is made from rice flour and provides a lovely taste and superior crispy crumb. Of course that is not a batter but I would imagine the crumbs are similar.

It would be a very strange world if we all agreed and liked the same things
:p

Purely talking about chip shop batter though and not Bread Crumbs, although my favourite thing in the world used to be Chicken Cordon Bleu&Breaded mushrooms cooked fresh.
