My sister in law lives near there :) several drunk evenings in The Metropolitan, Kathmandu curries :D The Station and The Royal Oak :)

I quite like Didsbury

Yeah, I quite like East and West Didsbury. You should try out the Cheese Hamlet too sometime, though whenever I go in I end up £30 lighter and 30 lbs heavier (in terms of cheese) :p

My Fiancee treat me to a light brunch at a local cafe for my Birthday. For a dish so simple, everything just came together really well. Very nice indeed and one I'm going to recreate at home.

Farmhouse bread, black pudding pieces, smoky bacon pieces, sauteed potatoes and a bistro salad topped with a light mustard dressing and poached egg.

Weekend had a blé salad with chickpeas, tomatoes, artichokes, gerkins, onion, cucumber, salad leaves and a 45min 62.5c egg.

Last night's chinese turkey curry and cauliflower fried rice. 411kcal, mass proteins.

After a bit of a painfully cold and hilly ride we had lunch at Solita in East Didsbury. I ordered the "Big Manc". I'm not sure what I was expecting exactly but the thing was *huge*. I don't normally eat Big Macs and the like but this was really damn tasty.

Not quite now, but just returned from a short break in NYC. Couple of food snaps I got on my phone. Just some quick ones.

The Spotted Pig Burger - Chargrilled Burger with Roquefort Cheese & Shoestring Fries. The fries were awesome need to recreate them, they're fried with rosemary and garlic shaving.

Yeah. I don't normally go for the Big Manc either but I felt like a change from my usual :)

I've been really bad today as I had to go into town at lunch.... I popped to Almost Famous and had one of their River Phoenix burgers. Not my picture - in fact, it's an awful picture. Makes the burger look really dry and blah. It was delicious though.

Coincidentally, I picked up some Almost Famous patties from the butcher they use and had a go at my own with decent results. Used the brioche buns from Sainsburys for the sake of laziness, so slightly sweeter than the demi-brioche AF use.

The guy I bought them off was saying they make 30,000 patties a week for them (!). Delivered fresh everyday to Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.

That's pretty ridiculous

I quite enjoyed my 50% chuck 50% brisket mince I got from Littlewoods in Heaton Chapel. I used Aldi brioche buns (also due to laziness) and made a few variations. The only reason I don't do it more often is I hate how much I and the kitchen stink when I fry off the burgers.
