The **Now Eating** Thread

I though "Cornish Pastys" is a legally protected name?
They can be sold anywhere but must be produced in Cornwall to be called "Cornish Pastys"
Maybe not, i'm no expert...but they tasted good whatever they are called :D

Correct, they have European PGI protection.
It only has to be prepared in cornwall, it can be baked in stores.

Are you telling me that all the supermarkets and companies like Ginsters make all their pasties in Cornwall?

I find that hard to believe.

Yes, Ginsters is and always was based in Cornwall.

It's just a shame, they didn't specify the ingredients to a tighter tolerance. Ginsters is not quality at all.

Next time I'm in the supermarket, I'll be looking at their pasties now to see where they are made.

You're right about Ginsters. It's a shame that a Cornish pasty company from Cornwall can only churn out food on par with rustlers burgers and doner kebabs. In other words, only suitable for consumption when completely leathered.

Made this recipe tonight: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/...ral-tsos-chicken-food-lab-chinese-recipe.html

Was amazing, I adjusted the volume of the sauce though as I prefer more sauce. Will 100% a regular.
