The **Now Eating** Thread

Yeah, I took a bite and was going to put the rest in the fridge. But I couldn't help myself and stuffed myself with the whole cake. :( The other one is in the fridge.

I just got home and my neighbour gave me some Valerie Pattiserie cakes. His wife works there.

Nom nom :D

My house mates gf when we were at uni used to work there, the goodies she brought home at the end of her weekend shifts caused stampedes though the house to get the best bits :D

salmon fishcakes with couple f runny eggs.

yet more disappointing fish cakes.

cant find one single brand i like, i also don't understand how they fit so much energy in them. Dream of the day i can have a big freezer again, and just batch make my own. Anyone know any decent supermarket fishcakes?

also got a pork shoulder in the slow cooker, with a butterbean and light bbq like suace.

M&S used to do decent Tuna Fishcakes, been a while since I've had them though, 10+ years.

It's the equivalent of a breaded chicken/turkey fillet or escalope, or a kiev. A particularly oily fish like salmon will of course be higher in calories, consider that it's probably filled with some sort of cheese or sauce and then covered in fried breadcrumbs. A fish cake containing 250-300 calories is the norm.

Aldi do some quite nice ones, around that level of energy density that are actually quite big and good value considering.

.

Have you had the Tesco Finest ones? I thought they were quite good.

Made a quick salad today. Warmed some microwave grains, chopped leaves, tomato, pepper, courgette all mixed with some tinned mackerel and a bit of sriracha.

Not a fan of Finest/Difference or any other so called 'premium' product. Go to a local fish monger and get so much more for your money, they easy to make.

Footlong chipotle chicken melt for supper. Pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, gherkins and a little southwest sauce :)

I've kinda got tired of burgers, which is why I went Japanese today. And I've decided to give the doughnuts a miss for a while. Their not doing my weight any favours. Decided to cut down in general really. Less takeaways. Less junkfood. I'm not going cold turkey, cause I've tried that and it never works long term, but I want to at least avoid gaining more weight.

But yeah, I've looked at their website. I'd like to try poutine. I might get around to trying them eventually.
