Beware of latest drivers.

I uninstalled my drivers, rebooted, deleted folders etc.... went to install latest and get a message that the hardware wizard is still running. Parts of the driver installed but not others.

Reboot.

Upon reboot, I see the 347.88 drivers I ran, actually show up as 347.52 in the add remove programs.

Now I cant remove the drivers as they are not really there.

So yes an epic mess!

Why did you uninstall drivers etc ? Hardware wizard probably kicked in because you uninstalled the drivers then rebooted hence why its trying to install drivers again for your card automatically. I think you may have caused the problem yourself.
You can just install them over the top of previous drivers and if you must do an uninstall first thats what the "clean installation" option is for.
I had no problems just been playing games for about an hour.

I've always done it that way and never had an issue.

But I get your point.

GeForce experience seemed to install the new driver without any problems, however it appears to have killed Crysis (original) for me! Only started playing it the other day and now since the driver update it won't run :(

Any one have any thoughts on this? Link to image.

When I do an windows update check on Win 8.1 it is showing that I am missing my display drivers.

I have the latest WHQL's from Nvidia installed and nothing shows up as missing in the device manager. also the gpu is running as it should no issues.

Back ground story to this is, when the latest drivers came out, I did what I usually do, I unstalled them, rebooted, deleted the folders and installed the new drivers. Only this time it didn’t go smoothly. I had a message when running the installer stating that my hardware wizard was already running.

When I rebooted, it showed in the add remove drivers that it had done a partial install but also the version number was for the last set of drivers despite me running the latest set form Nvidia. I tried unistalling them form the Add/remove programs, but it was complaining that they weren’t installed.

So I reinstalled the old set, uninstalled them and then successfully reinstalled the new set a second time round.

----

So that’s the background out the way. But now even tho everything is running fine with the latest set, windows thinks I’m missing a driver.
