**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Just a quick question for SLI users - what is your opinion on driver support for multigpu?

I'm curious about potentially switching to Nvidia, I game at 3440x1440 so really I need dual cards to play at 50-60fps. So yeah, what's your experience been?

I've run SLI for years never looked back. Sometimes games arrive with no SLI support and that's a pain but it's getting lees likely. I've had more trouble with AMD over the years but you can of course get problems whichever way you go.

Hi, previous owner of 295x2 here, also a previous owner of a 3440x1440 too. Switched to nvidia for the above reason, got tired of waiting for crossfire profiles, they normally push the drivers+sli profiles out for new released games give or take a few days on the popular titles.

No fault with the 295x2, it was a cracker card. Just a shame on their driver delivery. TW:Attila was poop with 1 gpu at that resolution, was waiting nearly a month on no show drivers so i gave up went green.

Thanks for the information guys.

Can I ask did you just return you 295x2 or did you sell it on? The biggest thing holding me back is I would probably lose a fair bit on my card. I actually have a pristine 290x in my computer as well, but that goes pretty much unused.

So you reckon the RIGHT way to install Nvidia drivers is via the Geforce experience?

I have always unistalled the current set first, rebooted, deleted the folders THEN done a clean install.

However this time I seem to have a problem where windows thinks I have no display drivers installed dispite the lasted WHQL's being installed and the GPU functioning fine.

I have always installed over the top, uninstalling first seems like an unnecessary extra bit of effort :p

Looks just like an optional install that you can ignore. I didn't think all nv driver releases were on windows update so maybe that is why it is offering this one?

It just bothers the OCD in me. :p

Windows wasnt behaving like this when I had the previous drivers installed. :o

Hotfix drivers to solve customer issues... I miss nvidia drivers...

Don't miss the 970's, but I miss the driver support.

Just nvidia aren't currently selling a card I want. At least, not at a price I would pay.

Same here Windows 8.1, checked out the new driver in GE and now I just get the 'Geforce Experience encountered an error and must close' There is a 12 page thread on the nvidia forums with users with the same issue.

https://esports.geforce.com/forums/topic/810230/geforce-experience/-quot-geforce-experience-encountered-an-error-and-must-close-quot-fix-solution-as-of-10th-feb-2015/1

Top suggested fix didn't work. Which didn't surprise me as I have rebooted anyway which would obviously restart the nvidia services.

Hey guys,

Chris from team NVIDIA here. The issue you’ve described should be resolved in GeForce Experience version 2.4.1.21 which is available for download now.

Let me know if it fixes your problem.

Cheers.

Chris from Team NVIDIA.
