**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Edit - fixed my Witcher 3 issue. All I did was uninstall then reinstall the drivers again. Game is now back to how I had it, no better, no worse performance, but still dips to the mid 40's around groups of people and camp fires, and becomes very stuttery even with Gsync. Basically, if I can't keep this game locked at 59fps using my trick, its stuttery as hell using SLI if the frames drop below this. As with some other games, in Witcher 3 Gsync is of no use whatsoever with SLI! Just running one 780Ti Gysnc works and it's smooth, but I only get about 40fps max (hairworks off, foliage high, shadows high, all else ultra)

No desktop crashes, yet, after this reinstall, but I have a feeling they will still happen

EDIT - and there we have it. Desktop crash, driver stopped responding. ****ing hell nvidia, what are you doing?

Yeah mine is always related to chrome as well. I also have AIDA 64, Rat 7 mouse, Logitech G19 keyboard and kaspersky internet protection running in the background.

If its not the Nvidia drivers though then why is 253.06 crashing and 250.12 is totally stable with all the same background programs running and browsing chrome both times?

Chrome rapidly switches between P-states; games do not. There was a very similar crashing issue when the 300 driver branch was first implemented.

Put latest drivers on last night, had two crashes in TW3, one within 5 minutes of playing and the second after 4 hours when I pulled the world map up.

Did the old usual video crashes but you can hear sound in the background and have to kill the task.

FPS has gone up from 50/60 to 70/80s which has made me happy and scratched my upgrade itch :)

Hey everyone, we spotted an issue with windowed G-Sync and The Witcher 3 on specific configurations. We believe we've squished the bug and will be updating the driver this week.

Please look into what's causing the crashes with chrome and other browsers. It's a temporary fix disabling hardware acceleration but I can't do that for steams in game browser I don't think. I know not everyone is experiencing this issue but there's still a lot who are.

I'm running Windows 10 Tech preview

Also using Chrome

Titan X SLI

System hasn't crashed at all using the 352.84 drivers inc using Chrome or playing Witcher 3.

Yay!!!

Can we sort out the random crashes with Chrome??

The only stable driver I can use is 350, it's great.... 352,353 are not good....

Question for all about shadowplay.

Some may know I have issues with GTA V and Elite with D3D driver crashes.

Since the latest version of GE, Shadowplay is locking my GPU at 1266 MHz at idle when it is enabled (I use desktop recording so it is always on)

However

I have an OC of 1366 MHz base, so it must be using my GPU Bios as reference. It is still boosting to 1497 at load, so the OC is working fine.

I don't remember it doing this.

Has it always locked the GPU clock when switched on???

This may have resolved my D3D crashes.... Still testing but 6 hours at a pretty decent OC and no issues.

Still no crashes in Chrome and played FarCry 4 last night for two hours no crashes.
Drivers seem good to me.

Can all the people complaining about Chrome crashing state what they were doing in Chrome when it crashed so we can see the common denominator. I must be not doing something in Chrome others are.

Could be a Chrome/Google issue rather than an Nvidia one.

I remember when I trialled Chrome briefly a few months ago, I saw a driver stop responding error with an AMD card, when I shut the browser down. Firefox is my daily browser and I have NEVER seen a display driver stopped error.

Nah it's a nVidia issue as it doesn't happen at all on previous drivers and it's not just chrome that causes the crashes.
