**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

100% success? The driver hotfix is barely out and you claim 100% success? Just like you dismissed that the Witcher 3 "fixes" must work for everyone because they worked for you, their the game and dev forums are still growling larger constantly in regards to those issues.

You mean like you said the W3 fixes didn't work for anyone :p.. There's been a test pool of I'd guestimate and say 50 users in total, which isn't huge but it's an eye opener that nobody reported problems.

Try running DDU, or a completely fresh OS might be more preferable if you're desperate. Try other games, Witcher 3 has it's own problems...I can't run TRI SLi without the window losing focus.

I've ran DDU too many times this month. I did it with the hotfix as well, I do it for all drivers.

Two clean OS installs as well, and as said before the other games crash as well.

Just had my driver crash just as a video in netflix loaded. Ugh.
This is worse than before. Rolling back to 353.06. Again, it's the most stable for me so far.

At least 353.38 isn't nearly as bad as 353.30 was for me, as bad as the old nForce ones for the 7950GX2.

Yeah didn't want to say anything. There's one guy moaning about pointer BSODS lol. How anyone can think that's routed to solely a display driver...

Nightmare, are you using Chrome when Netflix crashed? Was it a TDR event?

Those lot are the biggest PEBKACS around. :p

No idea about that, but I'm talking about the normal TDR crashes in gaming. Seems more popping up now.

I know the hotfix is aimed solely at TDR issues at Chrome, but it sucks that it happens during gaming as well.

At least it doesn't happen in rendering and work during Adobe products, although then they're mostly just in semi headless mode for CUDA.

Uh, ok try running Witcher 3 without Chrome open if you have any morbid curiosity

Already tried several times. Sadly no go.

Tried some GTA V as well. Curiously it seems to happen mostly during transition phases. Loading a new scene, quickly moving into a new area where loads of detail has to be loaded and drawn quickly.

One thing of note in the Witcher 3 is my peak FPS in areas is higher. Although the framerate isn't as stable now. I can stare at a wall and it'll jump from 62-89. Moving around in areas it's even more over the place. Where as before It was a near constant 75 with only dips to 60's in the city with crowds.

Urgh, sounds like a different problem TBH

Could well be, although I'm not the only one sadly.

Hoping NVIDIA get things sorted on their next driver. I know it's not ole SLI as I spent a few days with each card on their own and had similar issues. Popped in the ole trust GTX 580, had crashes on 353 drivers, but no issues at all on the previous lot.

Fingers crossed though.

EDIT: Witcher 3's latest crash log sent.

Updated the 353.30 yesterday. Still have yet to experience a crash on desktop using chrome.

Batman has crashed once on me, rest of the time it's been fine.

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3694 = 353.38 hotfix drivers

Today we released a new Hotfix driver that addresses the following issue:

Chrome Crashes/Freezes/TDRs

Delays when starting or switching apps & games with GSYNC enabled

It can be accessed here:

More information about Hot fix drivers:

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, with more lines of code than the entire Windows OS. We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released.

Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver.

The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down.

To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out.

These HotFix drivers represent a lot of additional work by our engineering teams, I hope they provide value for you. We’ll try it out and see if people like the idea and want us to continue.
