**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Just done the windows 10 upgrade, few minor hitches but all sorted now.

I've just gone to install 353.62, but the package just comes up saying 'nvidia installer failed' so I try to uninstall existing drivers to be given 'nvidia uninstaller failed'

Hopefully ddu can save the day.

It might be that if you start the installer too soon, you can get this issue. Sounds bizarre, but give windows 30 secs before trying to install after a reboot.

Its all good DDU fixed it, I have a feeling I upgraded while using a driver that wasn't W10 compatible causing some complications.

Really like the feel of the new OS, so far the first windows OS I can say I've enjoyed using more then OSX :)

Osx has been rubbish for a long time. The UX is simply not what it was. True 8 had its issues. But 7 was solid.

I was a long time Mac user for at least five years..
Never again.

still having issues 353.62 GTX770 sli and after 30-40mins of gaming a have really bad stuttering and tonight in BF4 the game froze with a DirectX message saying out of memory.
So i now have to game on BF4 with one card :( do we know when this will get fixed?

Received a WHEA uncorrectable blue screen tonight whilst playing the Witcher 3 on Win 10.

Would normally think immediately it's my cpu oc, but I tested it extensively back in April and it's prime stable as well as gamed on it a lot since.

Goggling around seem to suggest driver issue rather than hardware instability.

Anyone shed some light?

Windows 10 has been great for me thus far.

A couple of teething problems, no internet to start with, had to uninstall my AV (nod32) and reboot to allow windows to fix it, then reinstall my AV, experience so far is solid, everything is where it should be, looks slick too :D

Sounds like a memory leak issue, have you disabled your igpu on the 3770K?

The last time I had that it was a corrupt OS install, which was when W8 was first released...

Well this is cool even the 350.12 drivers everyone said was stable caused driver crashes for me.

Much fun was had with these ****** ****ing drivers for the 980s.
Sick of this ****ing ****, I had no issue with my 780tis.

I have disabled it now in Device Manager i will test this tomorrow.

Thanks pgi947

Force disable it in bios and remove any lucid/virtue software it may have installed. It may be a long shot but I know this was the root cause of most memory leak (crash, out of memory error) within frostbite.

I had a look in the Bios last night but could not see anything to do with the iGPU? Forgot the name of the MB  it is an UEFI interface.

Is there a way to disable auto Nvidia driver updates?

Open the Control Panel by right-clicking the Start button and selecting Control Panel. Navigate to System and Security > System > Advanced system settings. Click the Hardware tab, click Device Installation Settings, and select the “No, let me choose what to do option. Select “Never install driver software from Windows Update.”

So Windows 10 has automatically updated me to 353.62 from 353.49, which is not what I wanted

This

It was the first thing I did before I DDU'ed my driver to reinstall them.

Also disable updates in Gforce experience....

of note

Had three crashes yesterday.

No alert window for driver crash however it was in the event log. Happened three times in GTA V on 353.62

Switched off Shadowplay and was good afterwards....

Seems a bit strange given I had no crashes up to yesterday and have recorded 5 hours of game footage....

That doesn't work though, I tried that and it was still trying to install the iGPU HD4000 driver for me.

I even ran the tool they created to hide updates and it was still trying to install it.
