**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I don't believe you either.

I don't see why not?

He doesn't believe me because he is at 1080p whilst I'm at 1200p he has a 4770k compared to my 3570k same GPU (970 G1). But I have an SSD whilst he has HDDs in an raid array.

He gets hitching so turns off hairworks.

I have EVERYTHING on and it's as smooth as a button.

Hmm after the latest patch I've had to dial down the setting on W3 in hairworks etc to maintain solid 60FPS on a 980 Ti @ 1080P, so I am skeptical that a 970 can do this at 1200P.

Must be one hell of a GTX 970.

you can max it minus hairworks with a heavily clocked 970 and hold 60fps 99% of time.

With hairworks on aswell its gonna drop to 40's and maybe even the 30's at times, not smooth

I have a 780 TI which maintains a clock of 1249mhz under sustained 99% load, so faster than an overclocked 970, and I can't get a constant 60fps @ 1080P with HWorks on.

Turn it off, and yes, 60fps constant.

That 970 must be running @ 2Ghz! :D

I didn't say anything about 60fps. I just said smooth with no hitches. FPS is probably in the 35-45fps. Plenty. No slowdown etc. I've had it maxed since launch.

Ah, see where you're coming from then.

Yeh, when I ran W3 with a 670, I locked it at 30fps, and it ran fine.

Ah the penny drops. For most people on here 35-45 fps is far from smooth. If you're fine with it that's fair enough. To me that's border line unplayable.

I have hairworks turned off, however I have it frame capped at 61fps and it NEVER drops below that on Windows 10, 353.75.

I play it capped at 30fps on my 970 downstairs when I want some sofa gaming, but it's hardly smooth compared to my 980ti upstairs in my main rig.
