**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Hope these are more stable than the last, thankfully they were quick with this update. Another update next week with the release of 1080 you reckon?

Now I am not one for updating drivers on release and have only updated once this year....

Sooooo

Installed 368.22. GTA V did not make it passed a Benchmark before crashing and Elite Dangerous crashed sitting in a station....

Back 365.10, which for fairly new drivers, have been very good....so far.

Guys I've just got a new monitor and connected via DVI-D, where on earth is the setting in Control Panel to use full range of RGB 0-255?

My picture looks all OK until I install NVIDIA drivers and then everything looks washed out.

That only affects decoded video not the overall colour format. (Which often has no effect in Chrome/Flash but works fine in Edge/Flash/Netflix.)

You want the Change Resolution area of the Nvidia control panel. However, given that you're on DVI it probably wont display the configuration drop downs. So try connecting via NOT DVI and see what happens.

You might want to try loading the driver/inf file for your monitor and rebooting.
You could also try this old app if the driver/control panel is bugged. http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=83

Fun trick. Due to how laggy the NV control panel is you can sometimes catch a glimpse of the controls as the page loads even if they're disabled for some reason. http://imgur.com/yJsxfM3

Latest drivers absolutely rekt my system.

I was on 362 and decided to install latest driver, whole system went absolutely ape ****, to the point where I thought the GPU had bit the dust, I had artifactiing and then the screen would go half and half white/grey, would happen instantly on windows boot.

I managed to uninstall the GPU from devices before windows had fully booted, then ran DDU and reinstalled 362 and all was well, took me about an hour though before I managed to uninstall the GPU before windows booted to allow me to run DDU.

God knows what is wrong with that driver but mine certainly doesn't like it.

I tried a HDMI lead and the options came back, so it must be related to DVI. I've lowered the Brightness to 37 in Control Panel for now and delaying any more troubleshooting until tomorrow.

Its a 144hz monitor which I can't use over HDMI so thats not an option.

Also, I didn't realise there were files you can load for monitors?

While i feel sad for those of you with issues i do find it interesting that the first driver with pascal support is causing issues for maxwell users.

Well if the end user with a Maxwell card has gone and downloaded the 368.25 driver, it's no surprise they are having issues as they don't support Maxwell cards. They are 1080 drivers only.

haha i did not know that :) but then again it would require people to ini edit to even get something to perhaps install. Doesnt seem like everyone was doing that

I installed 368.22, getting artifacts and flicker in Total War: Warhammer. Thought my card was toast. The Division is fine.
Same in my 3D rendering software. This is the last two drivers that have given me issues. Havent had problems like this for years with Nvidia. Going to roll back 3 driver versions and stick to those.

Latest drivers have messed up my pc. When I log in I get a black screen then the pc restarts.

Trying to uninstall now.

Edit:

Drivers gone but getting artifacting and hard locks on login...time to unplug the cards and try individually.

Edit2: I actually think MSI afterburner has crapped out on me and caused this..... uninstalled and all is well.

Edit3: Reinstalled the latest drivers, reinstalled msi afterburner and setup my profiles again. Ran firestrike and all is well again.

Very weird, and has ruined my morning gaming lol

Ah well, at least everything is fine. Have no idea what happened to msi ab though...
