**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Yea just tried them on my 970 in Planetside 2. Lost about 30% of the FPS.

I guess they are nerfing Maxwell performance now that the 10xx series is out? :/

What's the requirements for this, and does it replace Gsync?

It doesn't replace G-Sync but works alongside it. When you are in your monitors refresh rate, G-Sync works as it should but when you go over your monitors refresh rate, Fast Sync kicks in and stops tearing and adds minimal latency, so for me, upto 144 fps, G-Sync keeps it all smooth and anything over that (145 fps+), Fast Sync stops the tearing.

Not sure if this is a Pascal thing or coming to Maxwell but I am sure somebody knows.

Is anyone having difficulty turning ShadowPlay on?

Typing services.msc in the start menu achieves nothing.

had a similar issue previously, do you by chance have msi afterburner installed? if so uninsall it and shadowplay should work fine again

I did at the time, but since then I've reinstalled Windows as I've noticed a bit of slow down in response / general function recently, and it's been quite a while since I've done a fresh installation. Seems to be okay now. :)

So I just installed my 1080, Latest drivers and I'm currently on a 60Hz screen trying this fast sync out.

Have I understood correctly that fast sync still caps at your monitors refresh rate but lowers lag ?

From what I read, it allows it to go over your monitor refresh rate, but with no lag and no tearing.

Sounds good, although some people might experience coil whine, excess heat and fan noise. I see a lot of people thinking that Vsync is some sort of solution for heat and noise when in actual fact it's just throttling the card back to the monitor refresh rate.
