**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I'm still getting the crashes with firefox on my 780 with the new drivers. I know this refers to 400/500 series cards. Am I the only getting this on the 780?

I have been stable for 1 day with the drivers linked in the post. Every driver post 314.22 has been a complete disaster for me so whatever bug I had it's gone with these.

Note the ones linked are based on 331.58 but are different, they are a specific driver only package so it's not the same as downloading from the main website.

My route of installation was: DDU -> Installed 314.22 -> Installed the linked testing drivers with display driver only non-clean install (so it kept physx).

I think some people in the thread I linked are still having issues but not having a 780 myself I don't know if that's usual. I've not seen any 700-series complains in the nvidia thread that I can think of, its mostly 400/500 and I think some people with 660s?

Ok thanks guys. It has only crashed once since the update but before then it would crash more often. Will leave it for now but it if it starts crashing again with the next update I might have to look into getting it fixed.

Chrome user here and perfect. Not the answer but possibly worth switching, as I read many AMD owners suffer the same plight, it could be more than GPU problems.

Quite a few people say this helped alleviate some of the issues but the bad drivers also caused problems during gaming. For me I'd get BSODs in game and on desktop I'd get a freeze followed by reboot or a long freeze followed by recovery. Other suggestions were to force the graphics card to maximum power all the time and disable hardware support in browsers.

Every driver past 314.22 caused the issue for me so I'd say it's the drivers at fault not the browser (because of the issues in games also).

Certainly the bug fixed test drivers have stopped all my issues.

I think this may be the issue I am having as my display driver always crashed at the same time as shock wave crashed. I have disabled hardware acceleration for now will see if it happens again.

Did I read someone was getting hard lockups with Chrome? Had one last night, opened a new tab and it hung and rebooted. No BSOD. Played a few games for the rest of the evening and had nothing untoward. Thought nothing of it TBH but I'm sure someone mentioned similar in here. This was all at stock.

I think the problem was with the Nvidia audio driver. I was running HDMI with the sound for my monitor coming from my 780. I have now swapped to using DVI and running sound from the onboard sound card and it hasn't crashed since.

Chrome has been brilliant for me but countless issues for people with Firefox.
