**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Are you saying buying a Win10 Pro key stops this behaviour in that we at all using pirated copies?

Buying an OEM Win 10 pro licence key is a legit key. So if you are currently running an unactivated Win 10 home then you will be golden. (Not sure why you would though) You will need to reinstall, so bear that in mind.

Win 10 pro allows to to turn off automatic hardwear driver updates and some other stuff as well.

Does Firefox do the same? I know they have that Firefox service which installs it's self separate to the browser which I think is to achieve the same thing.

Firefox still allows you to take full control over updates if you want - I'd have ditched it if it didn't.

Albeit needs some advanced tweaking but Chrome does allow disabling auto updates via disabling the update plugin/service internally - or did when I last used it.

Hi all

A combination of the latest windows updates and nvidia drivers has today finally fixed the stuttering issues. Woohoo!

Can’t be 100% because I’ve only tried tomb raider and GTAV but they’ve been fine for the last couple hours
The game that have been the worst for me stutter wise has been Battlefield 1 but that game is such a mess with server performance issues as well so its difficult to diagnose when its your own pc and when its just bad server performance.

Be interested to see how others get on. Tomb raider (rise of) was awful, random 2-3s of complete lag out every couple of minutes and now it’s perfect.

It looks sublime on max details with gsync. Pulling 80-100 FPS even in geothermal valley at 1440p with SMAA. Hadn’t appreciated how good it looked before because I was just waiting for the next random stutter but spent an hour just running about earlier :)

Unless you have issues for a while now Nvidia have said its good enough to use Experience to simply update.

The clean install option has always been there but for a good few builds but now it has changed in that it claims to delete all signs of old drivers.

If you install through G-Force Experience they go here : C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2 < you can delete this folders CONTENTS (I would keep the folder) after installation unless you want to keep for reinstall without G-Force Experience having to download them again, saves space on SSD IMO as can get quiet large over time.

I'm keeping it aside for new card to arrive as I will do a DDU run to swap them and stop Windows 10 updating to its drivers before I get a chance to do anything.

I am on a clean install of Win 10 Fall Update as of last night.

A word of warming, the past 2 drivers (and I gather this driver also and onwards) by design will not install if you have a modded GPU Bios that is too large, I cannot use on my Titan XM due to this without flashing back.

Oooh. How do you tell if your Bios is too large? My 980ti has the unlocked power limits... will it just error and tell me it’s because of the bios??

Simply will not install, it may appear to until you reboot then it ask to install again.

I've just flashed my Titan XM back to EVGA bios and it installed the last 2 builds one after the other that would not before.

I had to do this as I am selling it so quick Valley and Heaven and its all good.
