**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

More power efficient, cooler running. That's a good boost speed and slightly better than mine which does 2012mhz out of the box but during the winter when it was running at less than 25 degrees C it would hit the same as yours. How long does yours stay at that speed though?

Just got my RMA replacement for my strix 980Ti....a 1070 Strix. Boosts to 2025mhz out of the box, is this on the better end of the scale?

Also besides a little performance bump am I gaining any other features moving from the 9xx series to the 10xx series?

For me personally, hevc hardware decoding, playback of 4k content used to 100% my cpu with maxwell previously.

For the most part, if the GPU hits around 60c it drops down to 2000mhz, but nothing i'm too worried about, all in all seems to be a nice improvement over my 980Ti, will certainly scratch that itch until we see some new cards on the market :)

NVIDIA GeForce 397.55 HOTFIX Drivers Released.

Highlights
This is GeForce Hot Fix driver version 397.55 that addresses the following:

  • After driver installation, Device Manager may report Code 43 error on a few GTX 1060 cards models.
  • Netflix playback may occasionally stutter.
  • Added support for Microsoft Surface Book notebooks.
  • Windows 10: Driver may get removed after PC has been left idle for an extended period of time.

I have the latest and I did the latest Windows April update (I was feeling brave) and so far, so good. No problems to report.

The in-game overlay doesn't seem to be working for me. Whether it's been like that since the last driver update I don't know.

Edit - Applied the hotfix mentioned a few posts back and all seems to be fine now.

you have mentioned this before, gotta ask, what is wrong with it?

Randomly bsod on pascal. Known issue.

Nvidia broke it, it still works fine on older drivers for most people, 382.53 is the lastest that doesn't have the issue (I think).. Nvidia broke it and seem to have no interest in fixing it.

Interestingly fixed a problem (so far) for someone today who was having BSOD and random poor performance with any of the latest nVidia drivers - I unpacked the drivers and removed most of the extra folders for updates, telemetry, etc. (wonder how long before nVidia tries to stop this) then unpacked the GeForce Experience 2.11.4.0 (as they wanted ShadowPlay and 1-2 other older features) and removed the update etc. folders (but left the backend one) then created a shortcut with -shadowplay, etc. to get to those options.

And so far none of the issues have happened so far - performance is back to normal in the games he was seeing it 15-20% down on what it should be and before it would have crashed by now.

Is there a guide to unpack the folders rroff?

Manually extract (using 7-zip or similar) the following folders Display Driver, HDAudio, NV12 and PhysX along with the following files EULA.txt, ListDevices.txt, setup.cfg and setup.exe. Then just run setup.exe to install. No more bloatware, no more geforce experiance and no more telemetry.

397.64 drivers have been the best drivers since the 388.xx drivers. All the 39x.xx ones up until now have been pretty bad, either poor performance or causing issues. Everything is now working perfectly with these latest drivers.

I have an EVGA 1080Ti.
