But all that is happening is you get a smaller download as you can select what items to install with package from Nvidia. I usually untick everything but the driver. Unless they tinker with the drivers too? If so I am intrigued as to what bloatware is in the actual driver itself?
There is no point in downloading a "clean/Redux" package from elsewhere when you can do the changes yourself in 10 seconds.
The thing is that when you install your nvidia driver, even if you only select display driver and nothing else, a lot of crap will be forced onto your machine including telemetry services and other nonsense that nobody asked for. So by cleaning out the driver before installing you get only what you want and nothing else. Ever since i started reducing the installers myself a lot of issues has gone away.
There is no tinkering with the driver, its just a matter of removing almost all the folders and keep a selected few and then edit the setup.cfg by removing 3 lines near the end. thats it. No voodoo included
