**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Is it me or have Nvidia made it really difficult to install older drivers?

Trying to install 41.08 and keeps on popping up with DCH driver issue. These are standard drivers.

Just got the latest drivers, I have a 4k Predator at 60Hz, what should I have the frame rate limiter at, 58 or 59?

Always 3 below refresh rate on gsync. At 57 it should feel like the mouse is lighter. But try it, G Sync did change it on my old non gync panel always capped at 60fps i thought it felt better weirdly.

The new framerate limiter is nice. It actually works on Sonic CD to stop it running too fast on >60Hz monitors. The one accessible via Profile Inspector had no effect on it before, so only RivaTuner would get the job done.

It is MS not nVidia behind this DCH BS.

Propping up thier store like every egotistical tech company, You know we all want our own store ethos heehe i had the damm thing disabled too and a few processes and had to turn it all on for the latest drivers.

Also on the topic of fps limiters, Have tests ever been done on driver level versus ingame? Does it matter? Wow and OW etc have ingame capping and now we havr driver level. I personally intend to always enable driver level first but what should the game be set to 0 or 120? Or set both to 120?

From what I recall in videos people like Battlenonsense have done generally the method nVidia are using (which IIRC is similar to rivatuner) is often the best but in some games their build in frame limiter is superior - results with 3rd party frame rate capping software is varied.

There is no windows 12, 10 is the last one :)

They've failed so hard to capitalise or leverage on the Windows as a service model though they might as well just give up on that concept and make a new Windows. They've backed themselves into a corner really with 10 - the store has failed hard due to a completely wrong approach and the mammoth task needed to unify legacy products into one effective store ecosystem, many areas of the OS are badly fragmented due to rushing ahead with ideas without getting the base solid first and too many areas have been shaped by platforms or ideas that have been dropped leaving remnants the rest of the OS is having to detour around or held back by. Sadly I doubt it will be recognised any time soon.
