**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I'm on 445.75 with no issues. I don't tend to update the driver until I get a GFE notification so I don't usually experiment too much with betas and early versions.

Im on the DCHs, they're exactly the same as the standards, just smaller in file size, and faster install.

No, DCH is a bigger file size than Standard. They both install at the same speed.

Since I've installed the Standard version of 445.78 my drivers stopped crashing in Division 2. From 4 days ago, gaming for hours and recording. Smooth and stable. Yet the uninstall/install process was no different to DCH. Can anyone explain this? Only difference was I got the DCH (non tampered) version from Guru3D. :s

Am I the only person to always use the latest drivers then?

Not had a problem with drivers once since switching to Nvidia.
I used to, but these days unless there is a new game I am playing that has game ready drivers or something I am happy to leave it alone for a few releases.

Im on the latest WHQLs, but as above, if the drivers im on at the time, are working without a problem, then i wont update, if it aint broke..............

EDIT:

I'll update if theres security issues fixed as well though.

I've been experiencing random crashes in Black ops 4 for a while now. The regularity has increased in recent months. Seems if I have my card overclocked even the tiniest bit, the game can crash. I never have a crash on any games at 2115 core and +500 on the memory (2080ti), however in Black ops I have to reduce the core to 2000. Seems a very big jump down. It did get so bad at one point this week that the game would crash within a few minutes every time. I deleted the game and reinstalled and this allowed me to play for a few hours at a time before a crash. Core temp of the gpu never gets above 42 degrees.

Sometimes the error is recorded as Nvidia drivers restarting, hence posting in the driver section.

Any ideas?

Reduce the overclock

if it happens again try this its working so far for me (touch wood)

https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

I must try that, I'm seeing the same problem with Ubisoft games that seems to be related to the shader cache files.

It roughly happens after 1 - 2 ish hours.

It can be literally any reason behind the crashes happening on your particular Rig as every build is different so it is hard to say what is causing em.
BUT, I strongly believe that the core reason behind majority of CTDs for this game is related to Shader Cache files.

Now there are two main reason why I say this,

One, is because I tested a workaround suggested by someone on this thread to basically delete the Shader folders located under Documents.
I did exactly as instructed and now crashes are completely gone for me. At least for now and until another patch comes out and messes up the files again.

Second, is because the Devs themselves in the official patch notes for Tu8.5, listed a fix they had planned to deploy to fix crashes which is related Shader files also.
Here's what the notes say, "Fixing an issue causing graphic issues and crashes on PC due to corrupted shader cache files."

was driving me crazy it always happened at the worst of times. everything was fine then all of a sudden i was getting the crashes only with origin games whatever they have done. hope it works for you guys i haven't had one crash since i done it.

These drivers (445.78) are busted in The Division 2. Every 1 - 2 hours it crashes the display driver. People on the Division forums are complaining about the same problems.
