**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

fixed my Memclock not boosting and odd crashes with a DDU uninstall then clean install with nvclean (doing just clean install with nvclean on it's own didn't fix the issues).

Is there any performance loss since? Bit skeptical of Nvidia's latest drivers. I'm using 1080 Ti as well. Driver gimping taking place ?

Is anyone else missing adaptive in power management setting NV panel?

My 3090 GPU is always full on?
I have checked power management in win10 and that on balance.

Yep.

Just Normal or Prefer Max
My 3090 is not down clocking

Is it just me that "adaptive" is missing the power management section in NV panal?

My 3070FE has adaptive in Windows 7 but only normal or prefer max in Windows 10 (same driver version). Adaptive power doesn't seem to work like it does on my older cards with Ampere though with around 5% performance loss on full 3D load while maximum performance is correctly clocking down at idle on the 3070FE which it doesn't on my older cards.

Don't know what is going on there but prefer max hasn't been an issue for me on Ampere.

driver 457.51 has the option for adaptive power with my 3090, any newer driver causes me issues in WOW.

I upgraded to 460.89 and still no "adaptive " option.

Thanks.

I will try max power and see if it clocks down.

Just a update.

I uninstalled MSI after burner and then did a clean install of NV drivers.

My 3090 is now boosting to 1950 with out overclocking

That's a result :D

edit= and now my card clocks down...:)

Had that previous with Afterburner and found that updating worked after uninstalling.

Don't forget if you have an OC in Afterburner or another OC software, update the nvidia drivers and dont reboot (as it didnt say to for instance) you lose the overclock and the card defaults to stock despite what Afterburner says. (or it did the umpteenth time I did this).
Normally the OC is then only applied again after reboot.

After burner is causing the problems with my MSI card.

Uninstalled it now and everything is back to normal.
I did try the beta, but the same things happen

I tried EVGA X1 but the fan curve does not show.
I just get a blank screen.

What other monitoring software with fan curve is there?
Thanks

Those are the best 2 that I would use in truth. I would wait for an update, as your card is very new and then try again but for now, go without.

Dont forget last version of Afterburner Beta shows something like Sept 2020 so it will have been released before these new cards were out there.

I had the issue when I dropped my new card in the fans weren't moving at all! Anyway removed/reinstalled the driver and the same with afterburner and eveything was ok after that but hum yeah lucky I checked.

Everything seems to work except Scanner thats thoroughly broken.

power limit would not work for me on the full release one, (then realised it was from 2019!) installed the Beta then it worked. Noticed scanner didnt work too.

Great info.

Really need something to turn the fan up...

I stopped using it ages ago then with the 2xxx series didnt feel the need to overclock I was just trying it now to give the 3060ti bit more oomf.
