**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I see Riftbreaker devs posted new patch today, as they claim recent NVIDIA drivers messed up RT and their game, which was working fully ok before yet started to become very unstable on NVIDIA GPUs now. They made some changes trying to stabilise it but they think it's not going to resolve it fully, as more investigation and fixes might be needed. At least for the time being they advise to turn off RT on NVIDIA GPUs if it's still unstable. :/ Meanwhile, no issues on AMD GPUs.

GTX ON :D

I see they still haven't fixed it from launch then, used to always CTD, switched to Vulcan and got over 100 levels of MP and 100 hours of campaign without issues.

I didn't know about this as it never crashed for me (although I stopped playing when I hit Valentine and need to get this finished). Now I am seeing loads of people with this issue and the newer driver seems to be breaking it again. On vulkan it doesn't crash for me also.

So I've manage to fix my games crashing with any driver after 561.09

It was Control Flow Guard (CFG) setting in windows which needed to be turned off

it causes issues with some games and Rebar where it accesses certain parts of your ram..

Also if you run Reflex on with Gsync + vsync (the correct way) that also can cause crashing with drivers post 561.09

Nvidia knows about this issue too..

thought I'd let people know my findings and fixes.

Aye, the Nvidia drivers are in a really poor state at the moment with 50 cards. Not known anything like this for many many years.

I tried the Resident Evil 8 VR mod (REFramework) the other day and it black screened and totally hard locked my pc. It was then corrupted on restart and I had a nightmare few hours using DDU to get it back up and running properly again. Was so bad thought I was going to have to nuke Windows. What a ******* mess.

I think it's because the 50 series cards are in a state above all else as highlighted by too many reviewers now.

The drivers seem perfect on 40 series.

Is that right? Bloody hell, I thought the current driver issues were only affecting 50 series cards. Is it the same problems?

Incorrect...

I had black screen issues on the latest drivers. Not on boot, but coming back to the computer while on desktop for awhile.

4080 super
