**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Nvidia REP has officially stated on NV forum if the Bios is mismatched size to official i.e. bigger than X size (think it is 4MB) the drivers (last 3 for me) will no longer install.

I had to flash back on my Titan XM due to this last week but only did so as I swapped to a 1080Ti so need it stock for sale.

I would assume its going to be this way going forward in that if you use a modded Bios is need to meet certain criteria.

I doubt I would see a new Modded Bios since I was on a Titan XM which is getting old now and peeps moved on.

No clue.

On NV Forums section under Drivers, last two builds are near top but the driver that started this is somewhere down the postings so you need look for it.

Yes counting from current Hotfix driver 388.10 backwards it is the 4th last driver.

Hmm went back a few pages but not interested in reading thru all the posts really and search brings nothing.

Thanks anyway, will try rolling back drivers till i find a working one for now

If I was not swapping cards I would not have Flashed back and hoped Nvidia go back on this decision.

You can flash back to Stock Bios then update driver then flash to Modded Bios once again but PIA to do every new driver you need (not saying you must update to each new build).

Shame i cant find the post from the nv guy Flashing the bios over and over is risking too much i rekon.

wouldnt suprise me if its some way to shorten the lifespan of older cards.

Also for anyone else in this situation 385.69 still works with modded bioses.

Used to work, this is newish issue.

Pascal does not have modded bios yet so you flash to another cards that has higher power limit so its still official bios.

How can something be official if one has modified it or a card?

You taking your Bios from a 1080 FTW 3 with power limit of say 140 Power and flashing it to a 1080 FE which Stock Bios is only 120 Power.

No bios is modded no checksum/digital signature is messed with.

None of which is either here or there as that is how it is, you use a modded Bios that is too big it will not let newest driver install.

w00t,

You can get it in GFE.

EDIT: I cannot test A-Sync as like many after you turn it off its disappears from menu.

I could delete my Config and put saves back in but not going to bother, wait on a non beta Patch.

Windows 10 Issues:

Color settings made in the NVIDIA Control Panel are not preserved across a system reboot or restart.

Oh good!, finally..

Installs new driver, reboots....Nvidia colour settings in control panel are over ridden and Windows defaults kick in.

I am getting really sick & tired of their inability to fix this annoying issue, every time I do a cold start or reboot I have to go in to the control panel and manually reset to my preferred Nvidia colour settings.

File it as a bug report.
