**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

As with the two previous drivers, I got a black screen halfway through installing. I left it running for another 10 minutes, but had the monitor display the 'no signal' message. I forced a reboot and new driver showing as installed in Geforce Experience. Not really sure what is causing this and know i'm not the only person this is repeatably happening to.

Just updated to latest .60 on my 4070ti super, same issue. Had to power off pc to get it working again, I leave it a while sitting on black screen to be sure it’s installed though.

This has happened on some of pervious versions as well for me.

What the heck is taking so long to fix it!

The overclocking support in the Nvidia app is very poor compared to AMD's, definitely needs work. Being able to set per application OC profiles was a great, I really miss that functionality. Hopefully it's something they'll consider in future.

Finally, an Nvidia driver that does not go to an unresponsive black screen during installation. No hard reset needed, yay for Nvidia(!?)

Am I missing something or is there only a hotfix driver for the Game Ready driver and not the Studio driver?

I've been using the Studio driver as I don't need Day One drivers so preferred stability, but then it seems any hotfixes are Game Ready drivers. Which driver do people tend to use Game Ready or Studio?

the whole point of studio drivers is they are meant to be the stable ones, game ready is the beta tester

So if something is important enough to release a hotfix for is it not important enough to include in the Studio drivers? Unless I guess the previous Game Ready driver is what introduced the bug and so it hasn't made it to the Studio driver.

no because studio drivers are also mainly for professional applicatiopn users, some **** crashing a game isnt the point for them so they can wait till next main update

This hotfix addresses the following issue:
  • PC may boot to a black screen when connected via DisplayPort with certain monitors [5131002]

Professional's are OK with the PC booting to a black screen though? Just gamers that don't like that?

That issue could have been from recent updates though. The studio drivers are a month old so might not have the issue. The fixes eventually do go to the studio drivers.
