I realised just over a year ago that Logitech Technical Support was very good... if you had a faulty/broken item, they immediately replaced it and asked you to send part of the old item back to them in Switzerland.

Taking advantage of this, I called up many times during the course of the year, obtaining free products and pretending that I sent the cables/plugs back - no questions were asked...

Last week however, I got an email from Logitech asking for £3000 or to replace all the items, otherwise they will contact their legal department and the authorities in the UK... I am currently in talks with them to replace the items (works out cheaper replacing them than paying the RRP)... but basically I am screwed as I do not have that kind of money

Obviously I do not want to get the authorities involved, because then I would be completely and utterly screwed

lmao, karma came and bited you in the ass :p

The saying OWNED was coined for situations like this. :p

^^These kind of responses are not in the spirit of a confession thread and are hardly going to encourage more people to take part. Come on guys, a bit of joined up thinking would would be nice for a change.

Sorry but that's pathetic.

The guy has got his just desserts, he was an idiot and is paying for it, lesson learned. He doesn't need you gleefully rubbing it in, in an attempt to score lots of webpoints. Very bad form imo.

No it isn't. There's been a handful of good confessions and they've all (except the leg break one) been jumped upon, that's why the thread is slowly dying. If you want to see what a confession thread is like, go and find one from the Something Awful forums, that'll really bake your noodle. :)

About 3 years ago i found out my wife was having an affair with another man. At the time I had a couple of dodgy mates who "knew people". After several meetings, i paid somebody £500 to break both his legs and make sure he was in a wheel chair for a long time. I wanted to make it look like a random attack on the streets and not be associated with it. Just before it was due to happen, I came to my senses and realised if I got caught, i'd probably spend quite a while in prison and destroy the rest of my life as well as never see my kids. Instead, we went to marriage counselling and sorted out our problems. My wife still doesn't know that her other man was about 2 hrs away from having his legs broken. I sometimes still wish i'd gone ahead with it.

Why that, she still seeing him sometimes then?

I'm reading this thread whilst I should be working...

More so when he makes spelling mistakes on it...

Some of these are really good reads, keep them comin' :)

The Logitech one is a classic. How many times did you do it to rack up £3000 worth of products?! Did you really think they wouldn't catch on lol

Yeah - why not just send all the "free items" back to them and tell them you are sorry and will never do it again?

It was You!!!! :p

Reply from the Logitech person.

Cheers to those who find my situation hilarious - it really isn't funny! However, Tru deserves a proper "thank you" for being so understanding - cheers mate! :)

I have been told by Logitech that they believe I carried out over 15 false claims, but I think that figure is too high. They will not tell me the products I owe them, so I don't know how I am meant to replace them :s

All the speakers obtained were sold on, so my best bet now is to purchase new ones and send those back to them - I wonder what my Dad will do to me when I have to ask him for the money?

Yeah, Logitech are a bit silly for not asking for receipts etc, but so am I for going this, lol!
