**The OcUK Benchmarks thread!**

Im currently downloading the JC2 demo, arkham city demo, and the sleeping dos demo for some mopre benchies. Ill also rerun the BF3 benchmark to see if i get much of a different score to gregster and the other chap :)

Ok ive run some more and ive rerun the BF3 benchmark. This time the minimum is higher. Dunno why i played the same lewvel as before in exactly the same way  Although this was a freshly rebooted system this time.

Didnt do sleeping dogs as the demo didnt have the benchmanrk.

Good results Meatloaf. Always interesting to see stock results as it gives a much better indication of what performance to expect for most cards. :)

Seeing your results there, maybe AMD and Nvidia are closer in bf3 than i thought. The uber 680's from Greg and Rusty had me thinking the gap was still large, but maybe its only slight now. :)

^^ I did say my stock was still a big stock and maybe not representative of normal 680s. Not that it matters though, as hopefully mine will let people see that the LTG is a good 680 and maybe will encourage anyone wanting to go Nvidia to go this way.

If we get a few doing the BF3 video benchmark (sword breaker), I will do a graph showing the different cards and clocks on this and it should help keep the original post nice and tidy. It is better to see all cards showing the results and maybe we can do this for several of the games being displayed. Ideal scenario would be 680/670/660TI/660/7070/7950/7870/7850. At least that way, this is one game which will show several different cards and expected frame rates (could help decide what to purchase with peoples budgets).

Agreed. :)

Thanks for the contributions everyone, OP has been updated, If I've managed to miss anything off let me know.

I've intentionally left Heaven scores off, as we have the Heaven thread for that :)

Great idea :)

Greg cheats - I got lucky :D.

I think my Windforce is once in a blue moon territory. I don't see many non-Lightning 680's hitting 1310 :D.

Looking at these results 680's are probably a bit faster (relatively speaking) in BF3 when clocked up than 7970's but I doubt you could tell the difference even with an FPS counter on TBH. And that conclusion is based on at least getting to 1250 core to really class it as a "fair bit".

Would be interested to see some Surround results though. I would imagine the 7970 is at the very worst, level with my 680's (probably the same margin at 1080p faster).

What is interesting to me, is how performance scales with the overclock in this game and it really is pretty impressive...

drum roll.....

And
The winner IS....

The 680...by a ball hair :)

I guess what we can take from this is that their is no 'clear' winner in this any more, though that AMD rep saying the 7970 out right beats a 680 is clearly wrong unless 12.10 is going to bring another 10% to the party.

Yeah pretty much.

Here was my own Operation Swordbreaker run on a single card. From out the LAV to the end part where you clear the house with rockets...

No idea. Mine is max OC'd. Like 1310 on the core and +550 on the mem.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
31648, 344622, 59, 164, 91.834

The 680's average FPS seem (on average) a fair amount higher. I wonder why...

Thanks...

PS: one thing i did notice: overclocking AMD cards gets to a point where it no longer gives you any performance improvements.

I ran the benches at 1250 / 1525 and the extra FPS was negligible.
This probably varies from card to card.
