The OCUK Guitar Warriors Competition

dmpoole, do you mind if I link to my entry on another forum? They have a forum for posting your own 'songs', and I'd like to post the thing I entered up for criticism. It would save me having to upload it if I could link directly to the one you've uploaded.

If you don't want your bandwidth getting used up or whatever, then don't worry about it, I'll find somewhere else sooner or later. :o

I remember your band and demos now and I remember you ticked all the boxes except maybe the vocals weren't up to the standard of the rest of the playing.
Didn't you also use a drum machine that sounded really good?

ahh yeh I posted that a while ago:

www.myspace.com/ascensionbanduk

Thats us! Used Drumkit from Hell on the recordings as they were all done DIY in my house and theres just no way we would record a full drum kit in here... its pointless - plus the expense would go up for buying extra mics, mic preamps for all the mics and stuff... not worth it for a home recording demo tbh!! But yeh... that's us :)

Mr Poole, you never selected a winner...

I'm considering replacing the one I put on there with a re-working of it, one I added vocals and bits to...

By percussion you obviously mean Tamborine ;). I've heard some of Neon drumming and he's bloody good, but I do disagree with a few of his points regarding the guitarists.

GordyR's was superb in my opinion. Very much so enjoyed PaulN's too. Thats not to say I disliked anyone elses :)

I was thinking more like a cowbell competition for drummers.
And for Neon - what do you call a bloke who hangs around with musicians? - a drummer.

Incidentally, PaulN can no longer play the guitar  He had a car accident that hurt his neck which in turn has effected his hands.

Yeah theres been some good stuff, liking paulNs playing
