The OCUK Guitar Warriors Competition

If I can get a suitable jammy backing track to play along with I would like to give this a go, nothing fantasic but I can pull out a few leads here and there... I've never tried it but I must be able to get something sounding OK from my GT-8 into my PC.

What do you guys use to record on PC? I'm not thinking anything silly-complicated like Cubase! :p

Also, is that Gordy R singing in his version? Forgot to ask yesterday.

Affirmative

Need to get some sort of vote on.. :)

Excuse me, its my band and I'm judge jury and executioner :D
The trouble is no drummers, bassists, keyboard players or cowbell players have auditioned yet.
I think Arty gets the keyboardist job by default.

I wish I'd recorded some of my better stuff, I could have posted it back here, now that this thread has come alive again after seemingly ages of silence. :p

And as for having no keyboard players yet...where's Andelusion with his £1800 keyboard? Get some clips up and prove you can play something beyond those synth-sine waves you've been sending me. :D

Does this count for keyboards?

Written and played on a standard £3.99 QWERTY Keyboard....

It's uploading now - will be there shortly :)

Mr Poole - I have something for you. http://penski.co.uk/sounds/PHIL_GLANVILLE.zip (also uploading now...) - a Macc-Lads inspired laugh :) His sites' down now but this was available for free download and distribution a short while ago (so no copyright infringement, Dons :))

His Third (I think...) album: Men Are From Mars, Women Can Suck My Penis.

PS: They'll be up in about 15 minutes...

I've got tenosynovitis/tendonitis (no one's actually sure) and can't play. Not touched a guitar in 6 weeks and 1 day (and yes, I'm sad enough to keep a running total of my days away from them).

Wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenosynovitis (don't look if hand injuries make you squeamish)

I'll have a look through all the bits and pieces I do have and see if there's anything worth sending. Isn't it incredible just how bad a piece of music can sound just a few months after it was recorded? :p

Both uploaded.

Can't download the second one.

Since you're the only keyboard player up to yet it looks like you're in my band although I don't think a QWERTY keyboard will look too good on stage.

My old man has just sent me a present that I had forgot about.
He's just converted an old 1/4 " reel to reel to MP3.
If I remember correctly the original was done on a recordable 8 track (the type you had in your car with massive cassettes) and I sound on sounded.
This was my first ever recording I did in 1971 at the tender age of 13.
I used to be mad on rockabilly music (still am) and I wrote this and played all the instruments including a stand up bass.
Its crap, its dated, its embarassing and my voice hadn't broke but enjoy :D - Rockabilly Love (Uurgh)

Thanks Dad.
