Very pretty guitar! Lovely colour :).

Dmpoole's server seems to be doing weird stuff. It's working for me in Opera, but unlike before it seems to be only sending partial information - the file downloads, but it doesn't give details like the final file size. Don't know why that could be though!
 
I just downloaded one and got the 5 secs of nothing then I switched to (God forbid) Internet Explorer and they all downloaded OK. Went back to Firefox and it was OK. Seems hit and miss - if you fail the first time try again.
 
I find in pracise I seem to be the best guitarist in the room when playing with other people, but my skills pale in comparison to many I see on the net. :(

Still not impressed by the "perch in front of a webcam with an ibanez" crowd though.

Well at least you can play in a room with other people, I fall apart if I even think someone might be listening to me. ;)

Oh, that took a while for me to get over. I'd even fluff in front of a microphone. TBH I still come away from the studio occasionally cursing myself that the thing I could play over and over at home came out like crap on the day. The trick is not letting it show, then hopefully no one notices :p

Another old muso trick for when you hit a bum note - "play it twice, make it nice" - makes bum and even out-of-scale notes seem purposful and gives them context. Don't rely on it, though.

Oh yeah, dmpoole, in the OP, you stated that you wanted 2 sound files from each 'entrant', does that still stand? If it does, I suppose I'll need to record another one. :o

Enter has many as you like.
I'll leave it another couple of weeks, bump it a few times and see if we get any more.

Well thats an amazing coincidence.....I have been suffering with terrible tendinitos in my left hand especially the index finger! It treally hurts when I pick the guitar up from cold and do any kind of vibrato. The pain goes away when I am warmed up but this can't be good in the long run!
Any remedies or cures? :(

I've heard a lot about not playing guitar for long periods of time, ie play more often, but in short bursts (if that makes sense), do warm ups, and watch your hand/wrist position. But in short, I don't know of any remedies of cures.

Yngwie Malmsteen recommends eating bananas to combat tendonitis. He says it worked well for him. :p
 
I have just had chance to listen through all the entries over a cup of coffe!

I would like to make a comment on a couple of the vocal performances here:

GordyR and DarkOC you both have a great tone and phrasing to your vocals!
I could really enjoy listening to your voices for longer and it is so refreshing to here people like you that can actually sing!

Dark OC is that one of your own or am I showing my ignorance?
Whatever its a great song!

And a thank you to Mr Poole for taking the time to set all this up!

quick BUMP for this...

and to say, you *might* have a couple of entries from me in a weeks time or so. finally getting a band together, the uni are doing a "rock school" type thing. and the only problem my "band" have had is that our drummer is from jersey and couldnt bring his kit over!

if i do enter it'll probably be "paranoid" and "back in black" maybe even Epic by FNM :cool:
