Look I'm going to be very honest here, the level of organisation which has gone into this so far is not on a par with the Kent meet. It will all be fine but I haven't had the time to get this as pinned down as I did last time, so aplogies for that.
We now have parking pretty much sorted and will be able to use the slip road up to the farmers barn BUT I'd still like to get the number of cars down further if people can share then please do so. You will NOT be able to get your car out at a whim, cars will need to be 'stacked' behind other cars we will prevent this as much as possible but there will be times when an impromtu exit is just not viable.
When we go to Oakwood I EXPECT people to car share, there will also be times when we need to go out and get food etc and again people will need to car share, it will be pretty much impossible to have a convoy going to anywhere due to the roads so we want to keep our traffic to a minimum, besides lets think of the environment, the Pembroke National Park is beautiful lets try and keep our polution of it to a mimimum.
Right, as this post is heading in a serious direction lets get a few things straight.
You will be staying on private ground, my parents have been very kind to accept the numbers we have ~40 people in their back garden. I return for their hospitality I EXPECT the following:
The garden will be left as it is found as far as possible, no mess, no litter and no damage.
There will be no fighting no matter how drunk you get
We will respect the wildlife of the area, you can be rude about the sheep but being rude with them is another matter entirely
. The farmers are protective of their animals plus I don't want any repercussions on me or my family, there will be NO cow tipping!
Please don't tease the dogs they look pansy but they will bite you if you annoy them.
Don't bloody moan! This is not club 18-30, I am not a holiday rep, I did not organise this because I need it to pass an NVQ4 in Travel and Tourism, if you are unhappy by the way its run then then you can (after we move our cars so you can get out) Naff Off!
I am not going to give you a big long list of stuff to bring with you, you can all use your common sense (Maybe I'll send the Dons and UBs lists
) bring stuff for camping, clean warm waterproof clothes, etc and yes it may be warm but I stress again
the weather and turn very quickly so if you haven't got warm stuff you may be very uncomfortable.
For the Friday bring snack food which will fit with the Mexican theme, we will try and cater for those fussy people who have already spoken up but bring stuff which you know you can eat just in case you don't like the alternative provided. Bring stuff for snacking anyway because there isn't a shop within 5 miles!
Bring booze for the Friday and the whole weekend if you like, if anyone can get hold of a barrel and the kit and wants to charge pints at cost then thats fine too. There will be an oppertunity to go shopping for food for the Saturday for the following days, the plan is to try and do everything on the BBQ as far as possible and we will fine a nice butchers somewhere to get things for this purpose, there is a large TESCO in Pembroke Dock and a Sommerfield in Pembroke so if you forget anything we should be OK. We do not have space to store 100s of cans and bottles, you want cold then bring a solar powered fridge.
I haven't booked the bowling yet but I will soon.
Suggestions for evening activities are welcome we already have two so keep them coming.
